After buying a new, wizz-bang camera last year I thought I better learn a bit more about cameras and photography. So this year I joined the Blacktown City Photographic Club, with the view to expand my horizons a bit. It's been a positive experience, with like minded people to discuss ideas, techniques and stuff, and friendly competitions forming a focus for your photographic efforts. The club holds meetings about every two weeks, with regular talks on various aspects of photography. There are also club outings, which I must say are a bit alien to me, since I have always found taking photo's a bit of a personal experience. Once again it's an opportunity to see how others approach the task, and yet another opportunity to discuss photography.
