The figure  quietly walked across the floor reassured noone else was around.  It was time..to finish the task.  Wait!  The task was finished..  It was time to perform the final chore.  To seal up the evidence. Smiling.. the figure was sure now that the body would never be found! The murder would never be solved!

Chapter ~One~
"Mommy! Mommy!  Johnny Mullins did it again!  This time he went by the porch and spit at me!  He is so mean mean mean!"  Maggie yelled as she ran toward the kitchen where her Mother, Ellen prepared breakfast.
As Ellen turned to face her nine year old, she said;  "Maggie, how many times do I have to tell you not to run in the house?  Are you ready for school?  Ok...I'll deal with that mean mean mean boy later.  You go finish getting ready and hurry up, breakfast is almost ready."  For heaven's sake!  Will that boy ever quit tormenting her child?!  Sighing as she turned, she lifted the pot of oatmeal off the stove and scooped it into bowls for herself and Maggie.   She doubted she would have enough time to eat with her running late.  Guess I'm going to have to go up that darn holler and talk to that mean boy's Mom and Dad!  She shook her head in anger at the thought.   They lived up Shotgun holler and what she had heard about them, she was Not looking forward to confronting those people!  Rough people was what she heard.   But...that was gossip!  Sighing again, she waited for Maggie to reappear.
"Maggie?!  It's getting late.  Come and eat your breakfast now!"  She heard Maggie coming through the house as she sat down.
