5th December 2003: Angela's 16th birthday! A bunch of us went to the Bluewater ice rink for a skate (and fall) about. Lu and Angela being the good Samaritans that we are, took a little 'Spanish' autistic girl for a spin about... except she wasn't too talented in the skating department so we spent more than half the time holding her up, bless her cotton sockies! Afterwards, we went to the cinema to watch a nice cheesy Christmas film - Love Actually. How comes there's barely ever a fully naked man in films, but the women shake it all about?
6th December 2003: Life Sentence/Nexus/LOKS giggy! LOKS opened the show with a bit of Blink and Finch along with their own stuff and played the best that we've ever seen them play! Well done to Raj, Ben, Liam, Gay Charles and of course... our lil Jennakins! She, and Jack+Dan LS, rocked out with LOKS, playing Blink's 'Feeling This' and she was darn good wesays! Next up were Nexus who were brilliant... as usual! They really got the crowd going so well done to them too! And last but not least, the almighty Life Sentence! They were just amazing. Why are they not famous yet?? And to end the night there was merge-ation of the bands for a bit of The Darkness! That was immense! All through the night there were some rather moshy moshpits. OH THE VIOLENCE!!! Teehee! No-one went home disappointed.
13th December 2003: A bit of a trek around London before Christmas! First we went to Camden Market to look for pressies for people but we had to split with Neensy, Jeens, Ali and Flic cos they had to be home earlier. Twas fun all the same and WOW!!!! Jorge from The Salon!!! Me, Raj, Vikki and Lu were wandering up the streets of Camden and some Jorge-shaped guy walked past me (Angela). I turned to Vikki and said, "I think Jorge from The Salon just walked past?!?!" So off we ran to catch up with him. When we were behind him (and his boyf) we started deciding what to do. So I said, "Jorge!!" and he turns around and it's him and he's so small and sweet and gay and cute! He said 'hello!" and "how are you?" to us! Ah.. me and Vikki are so sad...but it was cool! Then we went of to Covent Garden to the lil stall, while Raj was getting sad cos all the Jack Skeleton t-shirts were for girls. We bought some stuff then me and Lu decided it was too hard buying pressies... so we rang the others up and suggested a Christmas dinner together at TGI's! They were all up for it so we were all yay! We wandered for a bit more then went to The Troc...
We saw the doors of The Salon then went up to Finland! (sorry I just have to leave that typo there for all to see! but I meant Funland). Lu got a bit obsessed with the 'making the balls go into the holes' game and got quite a few tokens and exchanged them for a crummy...brilliant posh plastic heart keyring and a fake... but beautiful silver bangle! Then Angela got obsessed (and scared people) with whacking the ugly things heads (blimey these games all have sexual meanings behind them! ;) ) and totally kicked Lu's ass with the tokens and exchanged them for a pink and black bouncy ball and another bangle and blackjack for Lu. After we'd had our fun we got some drinks, tried some apricot and vanilla tea which was foul and decided Fopp would be our next destination. We trekked round half of flippin London to flippin get to flippin Fopp and it was erm... well worth it! And then we went home.
21st December 2003: Christmas meal at TGIs! We had a crappy entertainer person who didn't seem to like us much but never mind! So we all sat down, ordered drinks and food from the kids and grown-ups menu! =) Jenna behaved herself pretty well whereas Raj didn't. He made his burger turn green due to the added ingredient of M+Ms. Lu is a fooken helium addict and Angela has a TGI badge from the nice new entertainer! All in all, the food and drink was yummy, the Kinder egg toys were quality and the balloons were fat.
31st December 2003: New Years Gathering at Tash's! Jon D brought Hungarian vodka leading to Bainsy passing out at 9.30pm (quite an achievement!) and Jon seeing the new year in asleep with his head in a bucket of someone elses puke... delightful! When it actually came to midnight, Lu was assuring everyone that it wasn't quite time yet, as it was only 11:58 (despite the cheering and partying downstairs) All in all, a very "happy new beer" was had and a pat on the back goes to Tash! Piccies of the event are to be found in the Photo album
16th January 2004: Wilmington gig! Event in the Dartfordian area featuring the likes of the funny band with the pant dropping singer, band with the guy with an afro who liked humping his guitar, Brace for Impact who did a trs cool version of the Ghostbusters theme featuring the talented singing Raj M, Joanne's Fault with their pop punky rocky tom-delongey sound and the god-like Life Sentence. Twas an exceedingly toe-tapping affair including a dude in a rainbow bra.
Piccies!
23rd January 2004: Carly and Dawny's 50's partay! Everyone got dolled up in the 50's style (minus Angela, who decided to be a decade ahead of everyone else!) and enjoyed a little fifties rockin' and a-rollin'... some 70's boogie-ing, some 60's swinging and yes well the music was from all the decades really. Congrats to speckle birthday hostesses, Carlos and Dawnio! Check out the piccies here!
24th January 2004: LU'S BIRTHDAY!! and Smackbosh! and Lu and Neensy's birthday gathering!! What a speckle day this was, firstly Nikibob, Vikkibob and Angelabob visited Lucinda to present gifties (including a magical TINKERBELL UMBRELLA! ^_^) Then off we toodled to Ye Olde Smackethbosh to see many many bandys performeth... including the last ever LOKS gig *sniffle*, erm... Keith and the Marzipan Soldiers, From This Day Forward, Star Chamber and Strange Day. Lu's light up Tinkerbell dildo kept everyone entertained, as did Drunk-Nina and Drunk-Kirstie! Back to Lu's for the joint birthday sleepover, more presents were received and much alcohol was provided (even for the dog), including a whole big punch bowl full of pina colada (that mostly decayed over the following few weeks). Lucinda was forced to give a performance of her manic-piano-ing to the delight of guests. Chuckles all round in to the wee small hours to celebrate Miss Neensy's birthday =D Next morning Lu paid somewhat with an itsy hangover. puke-o-rama.
Toes!
1st February 2003: Niki's Birtheve Gnosh-up! To celebrate Nikibobby's sweet sixteenth, many of us congruaged at the Gandhi restaurant to eat much mouth-watering Indian food, including dahl =)~~~ When we were all stuffed and could eat no more, out came the chocolate birthday cakeS which were a bit challenging to our poor old digestive systems, however I must commend Angela for eating all of hers (but then again she likes to eat). After a gut-busting, yet magnificent night we hereby raise our glass to fellow compadre Nikibob!
The toes!
6th February 2003: Blink 182 giggy! Inside Wembley arena the atmosphere was immense, with so many people there eagerly awaiting for the almighty blink to play. We met a few interesting and rather dashing people, namely "Scottish" Ian *drool*. Blink's performance was fooken brilliant, they played lotsa new stuff as well as some good old golden oldies =D After the show, the moshpit floor was a big puddle of sweat, sweat was running off the walls and people were coming out looking like they had just taken a sweat bath. Lucinda and Angela felt slightly better about the fact they had seating tickets. We made our way home, picking up and redirecting a random lost hobo/guy on the way, encountering a few raving mad loonys and avoiding weird dodgy people, till we found ourselves safe and sound at Tash's and crashed for the night. We gave Tash's cool lil bro Stu his pressies (a blink t-shirt, poster and badge) which he greatly received, and refused to take off until the following night!
