Joseph GORDON (1782-1858) was the first son of 'Camlet John' and was born c1782 and although not entered in the parish registry, one assumes, like all his other younger siblings, that he was born at Camlet. Joseph died at the Mill Of Cosh, on the 12th March 1858, he was 76, and was buried beside his mother in Glenmuick Churchyard.

Joseph GORDON held a 10-acre croft at Mill of Cosh, in Crathie parish. "Industrious and frugal," he died leaving estate valued at �443.17s.9d. Joseph married about 1806,
Nicola GORDON or 'Nicolas,' born 3rd of January 1779, daughter of James Gordon in KHANTORE and Janet Smith. Her older sister Margaret, became Joseph's step-mother in 1807 (Margaret Gordon, the second wife of 'Camlet John') Nicola GORDON survived her husband by ten years and died at her grandson's house in Ardoch, in reduced circumstances on the 23rd October 1868, she was 89.

Joseph and Nicolas Gordon had the following children:
1. John (1807-1876) - emigrated.
2. Jean or Jane (1809-) Born on 7th May 1809 at Camlet, but died as Infant.
3. Margaret (1811-)
4. Elspet (1813-1891) - emigrated - Born on 16th February 1813 at Camlet.
5. Helen (1815-c1890) - emigrated.
6. Joseph (1817-). Born on 20th March 1817 at Camlet, but died as a child.
7. Jane (1820-1896)
8. May (1823-)
