Most, if not all, the children of Donald McPherson and Jane Gordon, were born at South Inchdowry in Clova Glen. However by 1841, the family were gone from Clova. Everything suggests that they were originally Crathie folk, and had travelled over Capel Mounth to domocile the family. The children split north and south, several branches returned to Deeside: Glenmuick and Birse; whilst other branches took root to Forfar, Lundie and Fowlis Easter.
It is entirely reasonable to assume, that this Jane Gordon, might be related to 'Camlet John' - a sister or cousin perhaps?

Before 1815 when Margaret was 23, she married Peter GORDON, son of John GORDON "Camlet John" & Euphemia MACANDREW. Peter was born on March 16, 1793 in Camlet.and died in Braeside of Balnacraig, after 1841, but before 1851. He probably just made his fiftieth birthday.
Peter Gordon and Margaret McPherson had the following children (at least two were born at Bovaglie)
i. James (c1815-1890)
ii. John (c1816-1899)
iii. Mary (1818-1899)
iv. Jane (1820-1897)
v. Margaret (c1823-1909)
2) James McPHERSON. Born on June 6, 1794 in South Inchdowrie, Clova. James died in Pittendreich, Lundie on July 23, 1861, he was 67. Occupation: Shepherd.
In 1819 when James was 24, he married Charlotte BROWN, daughter of Alexander BROWN & Elspet CALDER. Born approx 1800. Charlotte died in Summerhall, Lundie parish, Forfar on November 1, 1867, she was 67.
James McPherson and Charlotte Brown had the following children:
i. Helen. Born on January 30, 1821 in Cortachy.
ii. Donald. Donald died after 1861. Occupation: Farmer in Glamis.
4. Donald McPHERSON. Born on September 7, 1797 in South Inchdowrie, Clova. Donald died before November 1866. Occupation: Farmer.
On November 15, 1821 when Donald was 24, he married Margaret STEWART, daughter of Charles STEWART & Jean BROWN, in Clova. Born approx 1793 in Crathie. Margaret died in Alyth in Angus on November 18, 1866, she was 73.
Donald McPherson and Margaret Stewart had the following children(at least three were born at Bovaglie):
i. Barbara. Born on February 1, 1826 in Bovaglie.
ii. Jane. Born on February 15, 1822 in Crathie.
iii. Elizabeth. Born on April 27, 1830 in Crathie.
iv. Charles. Charles died after November 1866.
5. Jane McPHERSON. Born approx 1800 in South Inchdowrie, Clova. Jane died in Tynabraich, Crathie on February 13, 1868, she was 68.
On March 27, 1827 when Jane was 27, she married William DUNCAN, son of Peter DUNCAN & Ann RATTRAY, in Crathie. Born on January 4, 1798 in Crathie. William died in Tynabaich, Crathie on July 8, 1875, he was 77.
William Duncan and Jane McPherson had the following children:
i. Jane. Born on March 19, 1829 in Crathie. Jane died in Tynabraich, Crathie on June 1, 1876, she was 47.
ii. Anne. Born on June 22, 1827 in Crathie.
iii. Margaret. Born on March 18, 1831 in Crathie.
iv. Harriet. Born on July 25, 1833 in Crathie.
6. Alexander McPHERSON. Born on September 18, 1801 in South Inchdowrie, Clova.
On November 29, 1829 when Alexander was 28, he married Jane SMALL, daughter of Charles SMALL & Isabella GORDON, in Glenmuick. Born on April 1, 1803 in Aultonrea, Glenmuick. Jane died in Crofts, Glenmuick on May 14, 1880, she was 77.
Alexander McPherson and Jane Small had the following children:
i. Isabella. Born approx 1831.

iii. Charles. Born on October 8, 1835.
iv. Jannet.
v. Jean Cumming (1840-1903)
