In his early thirties c1821, John Gordon (hereafter coined 'Loinveg John') married his 'second cousin' Mary DOWNIE, assumed daughter of James DOWNIE & Mary LEYS (of Ardoch.) Mary Downie predeceased her husband at Loinveg, sometime between 1841 and 1851.
John Gordon and Mary Downie had the following children:
1. John (1822-c1900) Continued to farm Loinveg
2. James (1826-c1900) Continued to farm Loinveg
