THE FOLLOWING WEB PAGES HAVE BEEN EITHER UPDATED OR ADDED TO THE SERVICE UNIT WEB SITE OVER THE SUMMER

The Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Cadette Pages have been updated with new information to include links to Try-Its, Badges, and Interest Projects available only online on the Just 4 Girls web page at GSUSA  web site.  Each page also includes the activities to complete the new Ms. President Patch Program.

The
Calendar of Events has been updated to include training courses available on the south side.  All the dates for service unit leaders meeting are also listed there along with any events where the dates are already available.  If you are chairing an event please let Gabriele know as soon as you pick a date so she can get it on the calendar.

Important Service Unit Information-This page has been added.  Here you will find the service unit financial policy, email address use policy along with other important service unit information.

Leader Information-This page has been added with links to (a) Training Course Descriptions, (b) Girl Scout terms, (c) Girl Scout Events, (d) and other useful information for new and old leaders.  If you know of something that can be added to this page please let Gabriele know so she can add it.

The
Resource page has been updated with new information.  This page lists many different resources available for you and your troop.  If you know of any other resources that can be added to this page please let Gabriele know so she can add it.  Here you will also find a link to a new page called Monthly Craft Ideas, here I plan to post a new project each month so check it out.

The
Service Project Ideas has been updated with new information.  There are two new GSUSA patch programs, Service to America and Water Drop.  The links to those programs have been added

Check out the
Silver and Gold Award Project page.  Here you will find information on who is working on one of these awards and what they are going.  The Silver Award is the highest award a Cadette can earn and the Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.  At the present time we have one member of the service unit working on her Silver Award so check out the page and see if you can help with her project.

GOLD AND SILVER AWARDS EARNED AND WORKING ON

AMY FOSTER has earned her Gold Award (the highest award to be earned by a Girl Scout) and will be receiving it at her Gold Award Ceremony on September 21, 2002.

SARAH KIRSCH, TROOP 1734 has earned her Silver Award (the highest award to be earned by a Cadette Girl Scout) at the Dash Point Day Camp.  Sarah had the girls make musical instruments and they had a concert on the last day of camp.

MONIKA HAMMON, TROOP 1865 is working on her Silver Award.  She will be collecting gently used sporting equipment on September 28 at the Lakota Park Parking Lot (Dash Point Road and 21st Ave) from 12-4.  A flyer will be passed out at the September Leaders Meeting.  For more information on this project, email Monika.
PROGRAM AIDES AVAILABLE TO TROOPS

Any troop who would like to have Cadette Program Aides to help at their meetings or troop events we have Cadettes in Troop 1734 and 1865 who would be glad to help.  Contact Sallie Kirsch for Troop 1734 and Alice Few for Troop 1865.
NEW COMMUNICATION TOOL

We have added a new communication tool for our service unit.  We have started a Yahoo group.  Here you can find forms to download, send messages to other members (questions, troop announcements, etc).  Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/La-Qual-ByServiceUnit and check it out along with joining our group.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Cadette Troop 1736 went to visit My Cabana in Mexico this summer.  We can't wait to hear all about their trip.
Brownie Troop 2138 visited Northwest Trek in July.  They learned all about wolverines and skunks.
NEW ADDRESS FOR TOTEM COUNCIL
