| JULIETTE LOW BIRTHDAY EVENT If you are going to be attending the Juliette Low Birthday Event on November 1 at Lakota Junior High your registrations are due to Gabriele no later than October 15. Remember you get raffle tickets for getting event registration forms in on or before the deadline. |

| FEDERAL WAY 4 ICE SKATING PARTY The Federal Way 4 Ice Skating Party is scheduled for November 8 in Renton. The times will be staggered and cost TBA at leaders meeting. There will be more information on this event at the leaders meeting. |

| VETERAN'S DAY PARADE The Veteran's Day Parade is on November 9 in Auburn. The parade starts at 11:00am and will go down Main Street starting at M Street. Check out the Veteran's Day Parade page for more information. If you are interested in marching in the Parade please let Gabriele know no later then November 1. Each troop will be responsible for getting their own patches for this event. |

| LOOKING FOR A JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT WORKING ON HER BRONZE AWARD The service unit is in need of a service unit first aid kit. This first aid kit would travel to the different service unit events so leaders would not have to always carry a troop first aid kit. If you or know of someone interested in putting together this first aid kit please contact Gabriele for a list of the items that need to be included. |

| WEB PAGES UPDATED THIS MONTH A new craft project has been added to the monthly craft idea page. The current issue of the Cadette and Senior Newsletter has been uploaded. The Juliette Low Birthday Event page has been updated with the lastest information for the event scheduled November 1. The Calendar of Events has been updated with important dates from the council guide. The Leader Information page has been updated with some new Daisy information. | TRAVELING GIRL SCOUT STORE The Traveling Girl Scout Store will be at Federal Way High School on October 14 from 4:30-6:30. You can call your order in to the store and pick it up on the 14th. This is a convenient way to get the items you need without having to drive into Seattle. |

| TROOP ACTIVITES FOR SEPTEMBER TROOP 1747: They went to Build-A-Bear at the Bellevue Mall. Each girl was able to stuff and dress a bear with their cookie money. After building their bears they had dinner at McDonalds. In October they are planning a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. TROOP 1734: Amy Foster received her GOLD AWARD on September 21. It was a wonderful event. TROOP 1865: Monika Hammon completed her Silver Award Project on September 28. She collected gently used sports equipment for foster childred in the Puget Sound area. She donated all the equipment to Treehouse in Seattle. Monika and Katie also participated in Amy Foster's Gold Award Ceremony by reading the many cards she received. TROOP 1733: They stenciled storm drains, planted and maintained pot in front of Silver Lake Elementary. The stenciling of the storm drains was part of "Save our Waves" project. TROOP 2153: They completed a community service project participating in the Sherwood Forest campus clean-up. They completed the "Girl Scout Ways" Try-It. They also participated in Amy Foster's Gold Award Ceremony by bringing in the flowers for the candlelight ceremony. |

| RECRUITMENT NIGHT AT LAKELAND ELEMENTARY This event was a huge success. We had about 40 girls attend. Remember there is recruitment night set for Sherwood Forest tonight and Green Gables tomorrow. |

| KIDS CARE CLUB Since we have many girls in this service unit working on their Bronze, Silver and later Gold Awards the service unit has started a Kids Care Club. The Kids Care organization has many resources and project ideas plus the girls would get national recognition for their projects. To learn more about Kids Care go to www.kidscare.org.
