GINDAIKO was started in the year 2004 to promote the art of Taiko drumming in Singapore.
From it's beginning at Tampines East Community Club, GINDAIKO is currently conducting Taiko courses at 4 Community Clubs: Bukit Batok East CC, Tampines East CC, Yio Cho Kang CC, and Leng Kee CC.
The basic Taiko course conducted by GINDAIKO will introduce the student to the basics of playing percussion instruments. Through weekly practises, students will learn the fundamentals in Taiko drumming. At the end of the course, a student will be able to play some of the most popular Taiko pieces. As Taiko drumming is a performing art, a student will be encourage to participate in public performances.
GINDAIKO welcomes enquiries from organizations that wish to engage us for performances. A Taiko performance is an loud, colorful and lively event. It will definitely add 'oomph' to any of these occassions: opening ceremonies, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, product lauches, Japanese-theme funfair or dinner-and-dance.
