| The purpose of this page is to share with the great wide world all the interesting days I have had. In this way the title of the page is misleading as I will only insert the days I have found to be worthy, and only if I can be bothered. Worry not, as all my spare time shall be used to think of more fun and appropriate titles. | |||||||||||
As you can probably tell by the year long gap in this page, I am no longer looking for everything and anything to distract me from revision! I will endevour to dill in the gaps, in retrospect... Saturday 8th July 2006 - Helped make loadsa Jam Friday 7th July 2006 - Went fruit-picking with Jen in Upchurch, Kent. Strawberries, Redcurrants, Blackcurrants, Gooseberries and Rasberries. Lucy and Lisa came round and helped top and tail the gooseberries (thank goodness!) 10th June 2006 - YES and DOUBLE YES.I graduated today, and it was lovely.I went down with Jen. My parents came (and were well behaved, and very chuffed). After a nice lunch my parents left, Jen and I went to buy some summer clothes and then went punting with Lucy and Lisa, all topped of with a delicious meal at Edamames. 26th May 2006 - Failed my driving test for driving too agressively (not knowing how to meet traffic). February 2006 - Have started taking driving lessons. 30th January 2006 - WOOHOOOO! I have finally been discharged from the Army. (Unfortunately I didn't celebrate this at all, not even at home!) 1st January 2006 - Was in a Cottage in Wales with some lovely friends. Unfortunately I had a horrible cold, though did manage to climb one small hill! 5th September 2005 - Started my first day of a proper job. 7th July 2005 - Went to have my final medical at Shrivenham, only to be told when getting ready to leave about the bombings on my way out the Med centre. Checked my phone, and there were so many missed calls! Finally got through to Jen. Thank God every one I know was okay. Though still very painful to think about what others must be going through. Tried to get a cab from Shriv, but no cab companies would go into London. Ended up getting MOD transport upto Oxford, as they weren't allowed to come into London. Got the train from there into Paddington (the service had re-started!) Then I walked to Embankment. Got the ferry service to Tower Hill. Walked to Bow Road and then managed to get a bus most of the way home. Finally have left Oxford and am no longer a student. BEERS dinner. Very nice, not raucus at all. Left after a few drinks in JCR bar. Met John after his dinner. We sat on a bench and chatted. Then I went back to Dellal. Had a really nice day. Jen and I went to IKEA (oh yes)! Then back to Oxford, I don't know why, just to bum around. A bit pointless really. Still slightly in argument mode, we packed up my room. Dad and granddad came to take some stuff back. We had an absolute palava trying to get parking - Holywell Manor is run by dickheads! Went punting with Lucy and Lisa, I went to BEERS garden party, then Jen drove us back to London. Back to Oxford to start packing. Don't feel nostalgic as no one is around to reminise with me. Got a call to say I'd got the TfL job though! :D LAST DAY OF TERM - WOO HOO!!! Jen came back. We went to a Lebanese with John and Tom O which was really nice, ut had a massive row later. Ended cos I was really mean TfL interview today. Jen helped me enormously with the presentation (heritage and conservation of streets!) Got lost on the way, but wasn't too late! LAST EXAM!!! Picked up by Lucy and Lisa (and John, but he buggared off!) Played in back quad. Went to Lesbian pub with John, then went back to London! John's last exam today. Joined him and Chris for lunch, then Maya joined us, and we all walked him to Schools. Second exam - Civ Eng paper B. Awful, but still better than expected. First exam. Walked to Schools by John - a good thing as I might've just run away! Better than expected, but still not good. Got an assessment day place with TfL, but for the day before my first exam. Arrrr! Rearranged, but could only get the day after my last exams!!! I couldn't be there for Jen's birthday - very irritating Back to Oxford for a Quant Phys revision class that was just shite! Revision has stalled. Dellal has moths! Almost forgot Kiran's birthday!!! Back to London. Mostly happy, though slightly edgy. Revision has started Back to Oxford. All attempts at beginning revision failed. Still rather down about yesterday, All kids should be sent to a boot camp where I am in charge and corporal punishment is allowed. Had a lovely day. Gave Jen the Atlas and COTM DVD as early birthday presents. Both good, though 'Moments' was rather dissapointing. After not sleeping for days for trying to finish project report I just handed it in unfinished, and 27 min late (printing trouble). So had to go see college sec. : ( Back to London for a dinner party, which turned out to be very nice, and not too tiring! Jen went back to London to vote. I voted then went to get my stitches taken out, eugh! We went for sushi at Edamame wiith Lucy, and then went to the Brewery Gate (finally!!!) with Lucy and Lisa. Tonnes of fun!! Went to the physio today. He is possibly the driest man in the world! I got Jen today, and it was hugely satisfying!!! Jen's last day working for Event, HOORAH!! Now she can spend a whole week with me in Oxford, yippeeeee! Went to the physio today only to find out that my appointment was, apparently, on Monday. I was very very pissed off. Jen drove me back to Oxford today. We got lost dropping of Amy and Bicci in Amersham. Had a nice pub lunch (St George's Day) and saw a girl in a little dragon outfit being chased by two 'knights' who later got into our car for a joke! And we drove through a UKIP rally - talk about stereotypes!!! Had Jen's 'travelling around India' friend, Katie, over for dinner. She was lovely, and dinner was fab. We went to Hilary and David's for an absolutely delicious Japanese dinner. Bonus being it was the proper meal I could handle, woohoo! I am so hungry! Dad drove me home today - big one-sided arguement - he has major problems. Went back to Jen's because I prefer it with her. Knee op today. Jen and I went to my parents. My dad drove us to Oxford, with my grandmum, much to my irritation. The op was fine. My anesthesiologist was so gay. General anaesthetic sucks. Not kissing Jen as grandmum was there sucked the most. Thank God I got Jen to stay and booted everyone else out. Got a call from knee doctor asking if I wanted to move my appointment forward to Weds...umm, yeah, sure! Saw DEBS, I am SO buying it when it come out!!! Went to see Inescapable, very funny, a must see, if just for the shower scene! And beautiful boxer. A beautiful film and incredible story. Pissed my day away. Thunderstorm. Picked Jen up, ate fish and chips and went to see 'Annie Sprinkle's Amazing Orgasms,' and 'A Knock Out.' Both v.good! Lyndsey came for the day (very heavy suitcase!). We watched Dirty Pretty Things with very spicy pasta. Met up with Jen, watched Fuck Gender. Ate Japanese. Lucy and I went to the Theatre museum, missed shark feeding at Aquarium so went to Saachi Gallery, got free t-shirts. Then saw The History Boys at the NT. Jen and I went to the drop in centre, and it took ages. Jen stayed home. Lucy and I went to St Pauls (horrible rainy day). Came home for more Tipping the Velvet Lucy came over, we all went to see Girl Play (alright), A Rose is a Rose is a Rose..(some were very good), Butterfly (very good). Then some Tipping the Velvet! A nice day in town with my lovely although she is still a bit under the weather. We had a lovely dinner with Rachel and Gary, and they taught me how to play wist. Sadly I lost, Jen came second. Finally got Jen in the 'Pinch, punch...' It was so satisfying, especially as she wasn't feeling well. I do feel evil sometimes. Had a really nice time with John; we went to see Switchblade Romance. Total gore fest and first film of the 2005 London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Thanks to Jen's parents we got rid of the final bits of decorating rubbish. YEAY!!! Had Easter lunch at Jen's aunt's house in West Norwood. Was a bit nervous, and Jen was very unsympathetic! It was delicious though. B/room vinyl has been laid. Went to see House of Bernada Alba at the NT-very dissapointing. Had a nice dinner at Pizza Express where Jen spotted Elaine. Vinyl Ray finally came to screed the floor. A 15 min stay in total! Still no Ray OR Ray! Oxford in morn; checked post, nice coffee and muffin with Amy. Made yummy perch fish cakes. Jen's parents arrived for w/end. Finally got my bloody wireless broadband connection working! Painted corridor to surprise Jen when she got back from work. Ran out of paint. Ridiculous romp around leyton. Had a lovely picnic in park with Nancy. Finished preparing and wallpapering the corridor and glossing most the doors. Very tiring. Jen is looking lovely. Paul and Dave are done. WOOHOO!!! Now the long clean up and wait for Ray (vinyl) and Ray (mirror) begins. 22 TODAY!!! Back to parents early morn, but they liked the haircut, so good. Jen made me a delicious chocolate (bunt molded) cake. Jen and I missed Daedelus and Medea at the NT in order to cook us all a fry-up. Well, also because my hair cut ran over. It looked like Shane's, yeay!! The flat is a mess. Decorating is so messy. Urgh, back to parents very early today so I could get back to Jen's for the afternoon. Today was the first day of the wonderful delights of Paul and Dave. Thank god for the end of term....although I suppose I would prefer to slow down time. Jen stood me up for dinner and made me cry :**( Project work is flailing like a drowning squirrel. Damn it, damn it, damn it, I must do more work! And I forgot my phone at Jen's place-bad withdrawal symptoms. Had to buy a phone card! Another full day of idle nothingness, just in a different setting today. Had a very long bath, and a nice evening in with my love. Couldn't take it anymore, so went back to London;pathetic, I know, but I can't help it! Still no broadband though. I wish Jen were here with me. Neglected all exhibition duties, but then again, no one phoned/emailed me. Setting up the exhib was a pain-Magdalen College staff are bastards. But, the launch party was a total hit! Watched Old School with John, Mindy & Chris. Goddammit! Another whole day of procrastination punctuated with a master's interview. I must wake up every morning, look in the mirror, and say 2:1. I have motivational problems! At least I've managed to get some O-rings from Stores. Jen woke me up at 00:02 to claim first day of the month victory-how very very damn annoying. Had a lovely catch up with Nancy over lunch and coffee. Saw Rosie Lugosi, the lesbian vampire poet, at the Zodiac. She is AWESOME, and I was suitably star-struck when asking her to sign copies of her work?. Good weekend chilling with Jen must come to an end some time. And that time was 6am today. :**( Did origami all day in time wasting usual-ness. Last lecture with AmyZ ever-sad times. Jen came to Oxford today, hoorah! Good weekend to be had. Went to Botnar centre only to be stood up due to an unwell child. Snow, snow and more snow is fun. Horrible cab ride getting to Marble Arch for 5:50am. Showed someone from USA around Balliol. Have finally admitted my life revolves around Jen. B&Q are complete and utter shite! Pat fixed our new doors - trapsed around in the snow looking to buy hinges! Got broadband and shelves for cellar. B&Q are complete and utter shite! Phone line re-routed by BT engineer. Got bathroom tiles and stuff delivered. Put shelves up in the old airing cupboard. Planed down the sides of the cupboard door. Broke a mirror. Stripped wallpaper in the bathroom. Knackered! Went to see National Anthems at the Old Vic with Jen, Ben and his sister Jo. It was FANTASTIC; I stood and clapped. Mary Stuart Masterson = FAB Had an MRI scan on my left knee. Some bizarre sort of 'soothing' whale music was played over the headphones! Supervisor meeting. Bumped into John and we ended up going to Zizzi's for lunch. Very lesbian chic uniform. Two glasses of wine to make me fall asleep in lectures. Went to shitty shitty Shriv to be told nothing conclusive about my future except that I'm wanted. Someone, please, baseball bat me (when I'm drunk). Home made pasta used to make cannelloni. Lots of alcohol. My present to Jen was to watch some of Dune with her. Stripped half the wallpaper in the corridor. Went to see festivities of Chinese New Year, but were too late so we went shopping instead. Went to see parents. Cousin had a cold. Assembled a flat pack chest of drawers, Cleaned the cooker, but didn't get to see mum much. Missed a lecture with the lovely Amy, which she did notice, much to my shame. But when lecture v. Jen, there's no competition. Got a letter telling me about a consultants appt set for yesterday. Had to cancel meeting with Amy Z to be told I should have my ACL reconstructed. So, I went to Jen's and was cheered up with good food and bubbly. She know's me so well! Wasted most of my day, as usual. Had a nice soup with Lucy. Origami stuff. Writer's workshop; very inspiring. Long night of work and laundry. Woke up late. Missed a 7am jog with Alex. Skipped both lectures. Had long coffee with John. Had lunch and long coffee with Tom. Went to Comedy Camp with Jen and Bicci to see TINA C, WOOHOO! Also saw Kitty Flanigan, from Australia, who was fantastic! Alex bought me lunch, which was really nice. Had a Starbucks breakfast. The days are just not as fun without Jen around. I was stone all weekend and I am crowing. Saw Nelson Mandela at Trafalgar Square for the Make Poverty History rally. A very happy vibe was in the air, and it was packed. Had one of those undignifying tests we women must have to make sure we're all healthy, and the like. Today I beat Jen to the 'pinch, punch ...' and it was so good. Saw The Pillowman at Oxford Playhouse with John and Tom O. Not as good as it was in the NT, but still scary. Squandered most of the day with John. The telling off never came AND Jen is coming tonight ;) so I am super happy! Feel frittered, and have wasted my day away despite knowledge of a bad telling off tomorrow if I did. Bbuggar it. Gave in to urges to eat fast food (damn you John Chan) and smoke. Also went along to a very interesting poetry gathering, but felt like a fraud. Stayed up to chat with Lyndsey; despite only getting 3 hours kip, it was totally worth it. Marilyn Monroe, ey! Was so ill all day I spent most of the day on the sheepskin under the radiator watching movies. Helped to make roast pork and marmalade. Had Rachel and Gary over for dinner at Jen's place. Got absoutely trashed on port. Got up early. Formatted new HDD. Studied hard...relatively. Fantastically dull day. Coastal engineering and pre-stressed concrete are not as exciting as they seem. Thank goodness for crazy tuesday. First weekday of term. Did no work. Bought a laundry hamper, stew pot and toaster. Made three-bean chilli (not spicy at all!) for the beautiful Lucy. Mmmm, lots of sex and coffee. Saw House of Flying Daggers. It was so beautiful at points I wanted to cry. Jen was so bored, she nearly did! Spent day in states of reserved happiness and anger. Watched Closer. It was very good. Back in Oxford : ( Good evening chilling out with Amy : ) My sweetheart is still unwell. The bath was delivered and we put up the newly framed Roads To Moscow poster. Hoorah. Had the fantastic Lucy B over for dinner. Performed Nutbush City in tinseled cabaret style for Lucy. With a Tina wig too! Anything for good food and yummy company. Jen and I bought a bath today. It was very exciting! Got some bathroom tiles. Went to see Vera Drake at the Rio in Dalston. Saw Ian McKellen in Aladdin. Fantastic! I met my mother for lunch. And made a really nice fish, tomato, olive and couscous meal for dinner. |
