News in My Life, or just bitching!
9/21/03 - Well, Eunice is in the hospital - poor Eunice:(  She had hip surgery on Friday, and she's only 26!  She has 3 months of recovery and I have no clue what she's going to do-  she's a hyper child!  I told her to watch lots of movies and read lots of books, but still, the girl gets ants in her pants after 5 minutes - ack!  I'm not worried so much, becuase I know she will pull through fine - but I'm just at a loss, becuase even though she's all drugged up now (just got off the phone with her, she's quite funny)I know she will soon be sad and depressed and in pain, and I don't know what to do to help her!  So, if anyone in D-town wants to go visit her or send her a little pick me up, let me know.  I also have her hospital room phone number if anyone wants to call her, just call or email me.

So, better news - the Harbor Cruise, aka Booze Cruise, was last night, man we had a blast.  Some of use went to Jason's to pre game (where my cell phone is right now, grrr) and we almost missed the boat-  we had to get off the green line and cab it- eep.  When we did get to the boat it was great, perfect night for a cruise (which, by the way, SO did not need the sweater, it was so hot!) and I didn't even try to jump in! They say that law students study hard, party harder - judging from last night, that would be correct!  We even had alum come out and play (props to you Sasha and Dave!).  The best part - pulling into the Boston Harbor, seeing a gorgeous view of the city, and the DJ playing Def Leopard, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and even a little House of Pain!  (I think Living on a Prayer was supposed to be about us first years, hee heee) I was in heaven, let me tell you! After the cruise, some people went out, I, on the other hand, opted to go straight home (hey, it was after midnight and i had opened the first bottle of wine around 4, cut me a LITTLE slack) my sinuses were giving me probs, per usual, I think I need better drugs - this is getting ridiculous, can't wait until it gets cold enough to shut the windows, then maybe my throat wont hurt so much!

Whoo hoo, The Daily Show just won an Emmy for writing - Rock on Jon!

Oh, last night, I was coming home on the T, craving McDonalds like no other, which is odd, since I haven't had or wanted Mc Donalds in about 5 years!  Still, craving I was - but no McD's were open:(  After my jog today (I love jogging on Soldeier's Field Road, just FYI) I was still craving a cheeseburger, so I broke down and got one - I've gone from a tofu eating vegetarian to eating McDonalds? what the hell!?!??!?!

9/16/03-  Ok, first off a bit stressed.  Had this study session today, I swear, we all left going, "Race you to the registrars!" Is it too late for a refund..................

So, on the way back from the cape I get a message from Honey telling me she misses me and is depressed, so I call her back and she's like, I have something to tell you, duh duh duh - i have to have surgery! Then, the phone goes dead - damn cell phones!  So, finally I get to call her back, and it turns out she has a maculor hole, a hole in the back of her eye or something- and they have to blow a bubble in it, gross. So, her worry? She has to spend two weeks recovering with her head down, and her exact words? "what the fuck am i supposed to do for two weeks with my head down?"  Yep, she has her priorties straight. This also makes me wonder - how long can I keep my 20/20 vision between famil problems and the fact that Lisa told me law students are the highest rate of people to become miopic - so would I look cute in glasses?:)

Ok, strange thing that happened at the cape - Sam forgot her passport at the condo (she doesn't have a liscense, it's lost) and I had to buy her ciggarettes, which just struck me as odd considering shes 26!  Plus, being the youngest of my friends for the most part, I've never had to buy anything for anyone, so the two of us found the whole ordeal amusing, and felt like we were doing something wrong, even though, technically, we weren't at all!

Ok, so it's a little bit of a hike from the T to school, right, and I've been the lamenting the fact that I didn't choose Suffolk - it's right off the T AND Glannon, my new best friend since he wrote the Civ Pro supplement, teaches there. Also, I pass Emerson on the way to school as well, granted, they don't have a law school, but you know, i could have found something to do there I suppose.  It's mainly lugging the large backpack - hey Westlaw, can ya make paperback?!?! Sure, the nice maroon bound books are pretty, and will look all nice and professional on my bookshelf - but in the meantime, will break my back!!! I'm shocked that more attorney's aren't hunc backed, though I'm sure most of them have back backs, it's truly nuts.  At least, they give us lockers, which, coupled with the backpack and all classes in the same room with the same people makes you feel like you have reverted to 6th grade - all that's missing is someone making out by your locker!

Is there a rule that people that work for CVS can't be nice?

OH - so this has really been pissing me off!  My news routine is as follows - wake up, turn on some news station, either local or like The Today Show, and log on to the internet, check out any headlines on msn or yahoo, and upon getting on the T I take a metro, puruse that.  So, the last couple days, everything is Ben and JLo - I'm not talking Entetaintment Tonight or anything, just local news!  On the internet, The Metro, they even did a huge freaking segmen on The Today Show with "experts" and shit about whether or not they would get together or not!  This is ridiculous!  Is there such a little amount of news that we need to focus on Ben and JLo's LACK of a weding?  Is all so right with the world that this is what we need to focus on???? come ON people!  I mean, I'm just as interested in celeberity gossip as the next gal, but ill pick up my poeple or us weekly at the supermarket if i want to get celeberity gossip, not the 5 o clock news! Ok, I'll quit bitching now!

So, this is NESL week, which translates to free food and drinks for all! Yesterday they had donuts and coffee for us, which makes me think they need coffee alternatives, like OJ - other people have complained of this as well, since we don't drink cafe!  Maybe that can be my SBA rep platform - coffee alternatives, not ALL law students are coffee addicts, sheesh.  Tomorrow is free pizza with the Dean and free drinks at happy hour (they would have never done that in undergrad, this is GREAT) and Sat is the Harbor Cruise, whoo hoo!
What was I bitching about previously?
