Sister
Name: Gisle
DOB: October 28, 1978
Location: Edmonton, AB
Occupation: Elementry school teacher
My sister's name is Gisle. She is two years older than me. She's an elementry school teacher. She studied at Laurentian University in Sudbury. It's so great finally having her out of the house! Just kidding! With her so far away, I miss her big time even though I try not to show it. You know, it's a brother thing. Although I'm looking forward to getting the chance to visit them. I've never been in other provinces other than Ontario and Quebec.
Growing up with her wasn't so bad. She's never done really evil things to me. Just semi-evil things like blaming me for things done by her friends, you know, kids stuff. As teenagers, well of course, she hogged the phone, but most of the time, she was in her bedroom, so we never had any huge arguments. Our main arguments were usually who would get the car. Once we both got hooked on the car which was a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix, neither of us wanted to go back to the little Dodge Ram 50 truck which had barely any gadgets at all. It didn't even have a tape player until we had both been driving for a while and begged our dad to put one in. So of course, the Grand Prix was the vehicle of choice.
Well, as you can see by the picture, she is married. Gisle and Denis got married May 18, 2002. Click on the picture for a larger image. Didn't she just look so beautiful on her wedding day? I think she did! If you're reading this sis... I MISS YOU!
Brother-in-Law
Name: Denis
Age: 27
Location: Edmonton
Occupation: Chemist for the RCMP
My brother-in-law is Denis. He is a chemist for the RCMP. He studied at Collge Boral in Sudbury. He's a pretty cool guy.
I've known him since '98 or '99. He met my sister while working at March Richelieu in Hanmer. She was a cashier and he was a shelf stalker and whatever else the boss needed him for. I think everyone in Hanmer has worked at that store. I worked there myself for about 8-10 months.
In the end, I'm happy my sister married Denis. He's great, he's nice and I'm glad to see her happy. It's cool being able to joke around with him. It can get quite funny when we let the jokes flow! Hey Denis, can you remember when we watched the Van Wilder movie? HA HA!
I have to be honest about one thing though. Until the holiday season of 2002, I never felt like we were close. He always seemed to me like nothing more than my sister's boyfriend / husband. Not because he was rude or mean to me, but because we never really sat down and talked. I'm happy to say that I no longer feel that way. If I can be thankful for one thing that happened that christmas, it's that I finally felt like we were close. Finally getting over that boundry, that uneasyness between us, would have to be the best part of that christmas. Denis and I watched the junior hockey games together, we played chess, he came out to play pick up hockey with me, we played guitar together, made tons of jokes at my aunts xmas supper, sang kareoke on New Years, etc... It was really cool, and I'm very happy things turned out the way they did.
