Discipline Committee Continued

Attached you will find a roster for Washington Twp A and none of these players are allowed to play for the rest of this session and if the Board finds out they are being allowed to play for any other team, Discipline actions will be taken against the player and the team that allows him to play.  Suffice it to say that the League can not and will not tolerate player and/or team misbehavior.  Also some of the individual players on the Washington  Twp A team are getting long term suspensions which we will let the Teams know about once I get some time to prepare a full list of players with long term suspensions for all you reps.

We also had a player head butted a couple of weeks ago resulting in several stitches and a hospital visit to the injured player.  The offending player is going to serve a three year ban from this League.  His name will also be on the upcoming list for your information so as not to sign him.

Right now, because of these incidents and other issues, many referees are refusing to do our games or refusing to do games of certain teams.  As I stated before, because we are not sanctioned by USSF, we CAN NOT get USSF referees that are available to the Amateur League.  We are only able to get referees that are either High School, College or Indoor referees.  Ross does not have a large pool to draw from and incidents like the above do not help the reputation of our League.

It is imperative that all teams get control of any problem players and let them know that if the Committee gets any issues that are deemed serious, the offending players are going to look at long term suspensions, not just game(s) suspensions.  .

This League is meant to be a recreational League and we are not professional players though some of the players seem to think that they are (and that's not to say we don't have players that at one time played professionally or at a very high level).  Again, we all have family obligations, work obligations, etc. and this League is meant to give our players an outlet to continue playing but all of us as reps, and players have to remember that our actions or inactions to control ourselves can possibly result in serious consequences to other individuals that could affect the daily lives and work lives of others.  So please reiterate to your players that we expect them to bite their tongue and control themselves if they find themselves in a playing situation that they might find infuriating.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Referee Verbal Abuse- Must read

Team,   Tonight on Ron's request I attended a disciplinary committee meeting of the South Jersey Soccer league in reference to a situation that occurred with verbal abuse of a referee.  Essentially a referee complained back to the ref rep and the league organizers about specific abuse that occurred in a div one game recently.  The player concerned has been given a five game suspension as a result of our meeting tonight.
More importantly to all of you on our team is a reminder that referee abuse will not be tolerated and could result in suspension of team members, thus further hurting our team effort.

While the committee acknowledges that refs are not always perfect, that they however they are the ones in control of managing our games.

To sum up... some refs may never complain back to the league, however the environment has now been set where they can easily.  If they do we  may have to suffer the consequence.

Lets learn to manage ourselves and be respectful at the same time

SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE AND A TEAM MATE, TED!

Dan, I plan on being there this Sunday, however I will miss a number of games due to family commitments and cycling. One cycling commitment I've done for a number of years is the MS 150. I'm asking for team support in my fund raising for this event. I've attached the relevent data if anyone would like to contribute on line. Thanks for your support, Ted

Dear Friends and Family,

The National MS Society is kicking off its annual Bike MS: City to Shore Ride. I am planning to be a part of this exciting event and I am asking you to join me in the fight against MS by making a contribution to support my effort.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of MS by funding research for a cure while helping people who currently live with MS lead more fulfilling lives. I believe in the work they do, and I invite you to see for yourself all the good they've done for the MS community. More than 400,000 Americans live with MS, and your support can and will make changes in their lives.

Please help by making a donation - large or small - to fight MS. Or, why not join me on the day of the event as a cyclist or a volunteer? Become a participant and we can work together in to raise the funds to make a difference.

Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Sincerely,
TED DAILY
