Ken: Giaan Rooney, Michael Klim was that a fantastic time for Australia? - Two golds, back to back - Giaan?
Giaan: Ahh ... It's always fantastic for us to get up and win a gold medal, but I mean two in a row is absolutely brilliant and both of these guys really deserve it, they really swum really well tonight.
Ken [to Michael]: And what about your good mate Geoffrey Huegill?
Michael: Yeah, it's good to see him come through with it, espically coming in as the world record holder to this meet and you know he really deserved that and he showed that he was the best and it's good we haven't been able to win a gold medal like that every night for a while.
Ken: Giaan, your swim last night, it was absolutely beautiful to see. You've really stepped up a notch and you must feel really good about being the World Champion over 200m?
Giaan: Umm ... it's hasn't really actually sunk in at the moment, I haven't really had time to sit down and think about it. But ummm ... yeah it was just one of those nights where it all came together for me [showing footage of race] and watching it now's a bit scary! [laughs] umm ... yeah, I just felt brillant the whole way.
Ken: Now that you've taken out that world title, do you [shows footage of Giaan and Giaan's mum celebrating] there's Mum, what are you thinking of Mum? [laughs]
Giaan: [laughs] Yeah, well she actually stood out didn't she, she's wearing pink [laughs]
Ken: She was so very proud of you, we had a chat with her last night, she was over the moon for what you had achieved and she believes that now this will have a roll on effect for you now, you've broken through.
Giaan: Yeah, umm, it's been a while since PB's ... my last PB for the 200 free was the Olympic trials last year ... so ... it was great for me to step up. I was ready for a big personal best and I really think that's what I was capable of.
Ken: That beautiful smile said everything didn't it? [laughs]
Giaan: [smiles, looks kinda embarrased]
Michael: [smiles]
