The purpose of weighting grades is to encourage learning, for learnings� sake, and to reduce the stress of competitive ranking. Grade points of higher value are assigned to high weight classes. The point value is then used in determining the student�s grade point total. The following system shows point values assigned to grades earned in the areas of high weight and standard weight (technical and general course offerings).
