| Dear Parents and Students: The most important goal at Galax High School is to prepare students for successful transition to their future endeavors. The faculty and staff of Galax High School welcome the responsibility and challenge of preparing our students for the twenty-first century. This booklet, The Galax High School Program of Studies, is provided to assist parents and students in meeting this goal. Program offerings, course descriptions, graduation requirements and academic policies are provided for assistance in personalizing a curriculum to meet the individual needs of your child. Galax High School provides the opportunity for academic concentration, career preparation and cultural enrichment. We recommend that students take advantage of this unique opportunity by exploring all areas of interest. As our scheduling process unfolds, we solicit active parental participation. Teachers, counselors and administrators are available to help you. Please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, Bill Sturgill Patricia Sebens Principal Guidance Director |
