EXAM EXEMPTIONS:
Seniors may be exempted from midterm exams if they have an A average for the class or a B average with no more than one (1) absence for the semester.

Any student may be exempted from final exams based on the following criteria:

A average and no more than three (3) absences for the year
B average and no more than two (2) absences for the year
C average and no more than one (1) absence for the year
D average and zero absences for the year

Students qualifying have the option of taking the exam for grade improvement.  Teachers or parents may elect to require students who meet exemption qualifications to take an exam.

Students who enroll after the mid-term or after the beginning of the year are subject to the same examination provisions and must comply with these standards.

Students are reminded that two limited tardies will count as a limited absence.  Students must be present 60 minutes of a blocked class and 30 minutes of a single period class to be counted present.

SOL Exemption Incentive: If SOL test results are available prior to exams, the student with passing scores will be given the option of taking or not taking the final exam.  Five points will be added to the final average for that course.
