What drives Mike McConathy, Jr.?
I've often joked that it is my wife Debbie and that big stick of hers. Maybe some of you have wondered why I have the word "Romans 8:28" stuck around from place to place. It's one of my favorite Bible verses. It says (KJV) "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to his purpose." I hope that if you know me, that you know I'm a Christian, or Christ follower. I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me when I was 8 years old. That doesn't mean that I've been perfect since that time, but in God's eyes I am. I offered my earthly life to Jesus, and HE in turn gave me HIS eternal life that will last forever(John 3:16 look it up). I believed in Jesus to the point where I turned away from my sin, and gave HIM my life, as HE was the ONLY way to be saved. Yes, I've made mistakes since that time and been forgiven for them. At the time I gave Jesus my life, HE sent the Holy Spirit to live in my heart with me. HE guides me through my daily life, and reminds me the God loves me. Many wonder how I can be a Christian and still play country music in a honky tonk on Friday and Saturday nights. It is only by the grace and will of God that I can do it. HE keeps me from being overcome by temptation, and gives me opportunities to minister to some lost souls and some wayward Christians that other people can't get a chance to minister to. Sure I like for people to enjoy my singing, but that's not enough to keep me going on some nights when I'm just worn out. Knowing that God wants me to be there is what keeps me going. If you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I invite you now to pray to HIM and ask HIM to forgive you of your sins, and come into your heart and be your lord and master. Just make him the "Boss" of your life, what HE wants is what you'll do, and He'll never give you anything to do that HE can't provide the strength or resources for. Jesus loves You, and died for You, and wants to save You. I'll be glad to talk with you or pray with you. Anything that I can do to help you get closer to Jesus, I'll be more than happy to do. Just in case you were wondering.
