Marty Saybrooke is the mother of Cole Thornhart and was presumed dead almost a year ago after she was caught in an explosion involving irsh terrorists who were after her and Cole. Though, unbeknownst to everyone, Marty is alive as has been in Llanview, Pennsylvania all of this time. Lee Ramsey, a rogue FBI agent who had been helping with Marty's disappearance and who caused the car to explode, had found Marty and nursed her back to health when she wasn't able to walk. There was something that he couldn't fix however, her amnesia. Marty lost her memory as a result of the accident and Lee filled her in on her life, she's a psychiatrist and Llanview is her home though he left the part about her having a son out of the textbook on her life. Marty grew to depend on Lee but also has begun to believe that Lee isn't telling her everything about her life because of the flashes she's been having of things he denied ever occured in her life. For some reason, Marty remembers one name, only one name and she thinks that person can fill her in on the things that Lee isn't telling her...Todd Manning. Learning that he moved to Port Charles, Marty goes there to find the answers about her life that she feels are out there but doesn't tell Lee, feeling like he has been keeping her a prisoner for too long.
