Marlow Stassou is of the legendary Stassou clan of Greece. Helena Cassadine first met Spiro Stassou on a yacht close to her family home. It was at this time Helena was looking to align herself with powerful individuals and Spiro definitely fit the bill. In less than ten years he built a fortune from oil. Helena promised Spiro that if he helped him invest in a project she’d give him something he wanted. Spiro agreed and they parted good business partners. Years down the line in the early nineties Spiro arrived at Helena doorsteps to claim his favor. He knew for a fact he kept Stavros alive by funding her cryonic suspension. Helena being a woman of her word asked him what he wanted. All he wanted was for his youngest daughter Marlow to be provided for and protected. Marlow was his daughter from his third marriage and also his most beloved child. His son was a preverbal failure and his other daughter was killed in tragic car accident. Spiro proposed that Helena single son Stefan marry Marlow.
At this time Stefan was raising Nikolas and trying to give him everything he needed. He knew nobody could replace Laura but maybe Marlow could give him a mother. Helena also told him that he had her approval, which was also a big factor in marrying Marlow. For once he had done something right in Helena eyes which meant the world to him. When Stefan saw his bride he was shocked that she was only eighteen at the time. They married in a lavish wedding on the cost of Acapulco. Spiro got to walk his daughter down the aisle and days later he passed. This made Marlow one of the world richest women. Marlow was very young at the time and didn’t enjoy being married. But she swiftly fell under the charm of Stefan. He was everything a girl could want dashing, loving, and handsome. But Marlow could never stay faithful for too long she had a big fear of commitment. So when she met Julian Winthorp she knew that she'd have him. They bantered around each other for months but at Stefan birthday party they gave into there passions. Marlow and Julian carried out a lengthy affair. One day while making love to Julian, Nikolas walked in on them. He of course told Stefan and he broken heartedly wanted a divorce. She was going to give it to him but she finally figured out that she loved Stefan. Marlow couldn't make herself sign the papers but she told him she did.
For years she's kept the secret that she never divorced Stefan. With years of traveling the world under her belt trying to find her soul mate; Marlow figured out she already found him in Stefan. But the only person who really loved her was Stefan. Deep down in her heart she knows that she isn't over him. So now after all these years she's back, and will stop at nothing to get the man she let go of.
