Katia is 17 years old and the daughter of Carlos & Marisol; younger sister to Javier. Katia's name means pure and her father treats her just that way. He is extremely strict with Katia, and expects that she is naive and innocent. Carlos has bodyguards on her around the clock for her protection. Katia has grown up under this protective shell and abhors it. She has hit the rebelling stage, and has been planning on how to lose her bodyguards on different occasions so she can explore this new town by herself. Katia is close to her mother and relates better to her. Katia doesn't care about the mob business, but she does like the financial benefits it affords her. Katia is ready for the one thing her father has prevented her from having thus far: a boyfriend. And she's determined to find the right one any way she has to.
Katia rebelled against her father in a big way. She came out of her shell to bed three of Port Charles' young men. When she wound up pregnant she didn't know who the dad was. She knew it was between Kyle and Joshua Jacks. At first she planned to have an abortion but she couldn't go through with it. Kyle promised to help her so with her mother's help, Katia had the results of the paternity test say the father was Kyle no matter what. She gave birth to a son Ace, and settled into motherhood. She and Kyle continued to grow close much to her father's disdain.
Katia's perfect little family began to crack however, when Josh grew suspicious. He began to investigate whether or not he was the father. At the same time, Kyle agreed not to fight if he wasn't the father. He believed that Katia did not love him and wanted Ace to be safe from the mob life her family lived in. Katia geared up for the fight of her life...
