Holly Sutton was a con artist when she came to Port Charles. She quickly caught the eye of Luke Spencer who came upon her swimming naked! The two had a passionate relationship before Luke was assumed dead in an avalanche. Now pregnant and facing the thought of deportation, Holly agreed to marry Luke's friend Robert Scorpio so she could say in the country. The marriage of convenience turned to one of love, and the pair survived even after Luke returned.
Eventually the two parted and for a period, Holly was presumed dead. She returned to Port Charles right before Robert's death, still in love with him. After he died, she decided to stay to help Mac with Robin. However, she left town again after being humiliated by Bill Eckert. No one has heard of her since.
Holly went to London and began to work. She was surprised when she was confronted with a familiar face- the not so dead Robert Scorpio! He explained that he was deep undercover with the WSB. The two slept together before he left. Devastated and feeling abandoned, Holly felt overwhelmed when she ended up pregnant! She gave birth to daughter Melody. She and her daughter lived in hotels throughout Europe. She has never told Melody or Robert about one another. Her hurt and anger over Robert's quick abandonment has played a part in her decision.
