Nevaeh Jefferson a college student arrived in Mexico for the summer to clean up deprived areas in Mexico City . The students were taken on tours around the beautiful city. Nevaeh being a girl from the heartlands of America never had seen such culture. She was quite enthralled in everything. Nevaeh soaked up every experience including a chance meeting with a man named Carlos. Nevaeh and her friends were cleaning up the old neighborhood where Carlos grew up. After a brief conversation Carlos felt a connection with the young beauty. Nevaeh and Carlos started a hot affair although she didn't know he was married. One day while at Carlos villa she heard Carlos in a heated conversation with his wife. The time had been short but Nevaeh was in love with Carlos. Figuring that she knew nothing of the man she laid with, Nevaeh asked her tour guide exactly who was Carlos Vargos. She found out that he was nothing more than a mob boss. He informed Nevaeh he was a business man. All Carlos lies started to unravel and she was left wondering who she gave herself to? Without warning Nevaeh left Mexico back to Kansas . She worked for the summer and found herself sick all the time. It wasn't long before she took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. She called Carlos who informed her to return to Mexico . Nevaeh did as she was told and returned to Mexico where Carlos confessed everything to her. She was broken after hearing he had no intention on leaving his wife and all she would ever be was a mistress.
Nevaeh abandoned her family, friends, and college life to have her child. Carlos and she o continued the affair which Marisol still didn't know about. Six months later Nevaeh went into labor and gave birth to Calista Amerie Vargos. Carlos knew that eventually that Marisol would find out about Calista and end there marriage so he sent Nevaeh and Calista to Dominican Republic . Carlos would visit every three months on business and see his daughter grow. For the first five years of her life that�s where Calista stayed. As soon as she was old enough Nevaeh sent Calista to private school in London . Calista was in boarding school from a very young age and the girls she roomed with became family. Her life drastically changed when Nevaeh went missing in Haiti . It was Christmas and she had no where to go, Carlos flew to London to take her to his trust advisor Alberto home in Cancun . There the spent the holiday together and he got to know his daughter. It was the first time ever he truly saw her as his daughter not the mistake he made in his youth. She was insightful for her age, smart, and quite beautiful inside and out. From that moment on Carlos made an effort. He sent her to school in Mexico so he could see her when he wanted and she became his other little girl. But as always it was in school where Calista excelled. She quickly became not only a good student but a popular girl. She remained in school until she turned eighteen and left to America to travel and see the world.
Since moving to Port Charles he's increasingly lost his connection to his family. Not talking to Calista for awhile also took a burden on Carlos. So recently traveled to Argentina to see his daughter who now is a nurse. Quickly he reconnected with her only to find out the man she fell in love with died in a mob shoot out. Somehow Trenton Duvall was connected to The Ghost. Once again that man hurts one of Carlos family members this time its war. So he invites Calista to Port Charles. But what everyone thinks isn’t want they see. See people will start to speculate that she is Carlos mistress not daughter. Will Calista finally be revealed to her half-siblings and stepmother or will she remain preverbal hidden child.
