Ava is
Addison Montogomery’s
twin sister. Growing up, the two were
inseparable. They shared everything, from friends to clothes, even a
boyfriend or two (although they never knew it at the time). They
remained close even after Addison transferred to
Seattle Grace Hospital. Ava is close
with her brother-in-law Derek Shepherd
and adores her niece, Brianna. Addison’s death absolutely devastated
Ava but it put a lot of things in perspective for her. Now she realizes
that no time is promised and truly cherishes every single day.
Ava was married for nearly 10 years to the lead singer of a popular 80’s
rock band. (Think Jon Bon Jovi )
Although the marriage didn’t last, the two were able to remain civil and
raise their children together; Ava’s son Landon (from a previous
relationship), and their daughter Brooke.
Landon has been struggling with a kidney
disease for months, and the one thing that can save him lies in
Port Charles. So, Ava, out of sheer
desperation, packs the family up and moves them to Port Charles.
