Anna Devane was presumed dead in the early 90s. An explosion set in motion by the evil Cesar Faison was thought to claim her life and that of her husband, Robert Scorpio. Turned out the pair and the dastardly mastermind all survived the explosion. Anna was stricken with amnesia and for the longest time had no idea who she was. She ended up in Pine Valley, where she was reunited with her daughter. Hearing Robin's voice brought the memories back. She worked there for a time as the police commissioner. She also married David Hayward, and the two had a daughter who later died. She left Pine Valley and traveled to Paris to be with Robin. However, she was called to Port Charles by her ex-brother-in-law Mac to assist him in protecting his family. It was there where she ran into another member of her past - Robert Scorpio. Angry that he had not got into contact with him, Anna shunned him. Which not be the best move considering Faison is also lurking in the bushes. And why does Anna keep dreaming of a baby crying amongst the flames of the burning boat that was thought to claim her life?
