Allyson grew up with Carly Benson in Florida and the two were best friends. After Carly came to Port Charles, they kept in touch and remained close. Allyson visited as often as she could and immediately fell in love with the town. When the opportunity arose for her to pack up and open her own photography business in PC, she jumped on it. Allyson is soft-spoken, sweet, and the definition of pure. She'd do anything for anyone and often gets taken advantage of because of that. Allyson sees the best in everyone and has no 'enemies' or anything of the sort.
Allyson was immediately attracted to Luis Alcazar. The two danced circles around each other deciding that it would be best to wait until they were sure before consummating their relationship. Then the imaginable happened- Allyson was kidnapped by enemies of Luis. He was told that she was dead, and took the news horribly. In reality, Allyson was kidnapped by the Ghost, a collector of women. She became close to fellow captive Dawn Sinclair, but when they tried to escape, the Ghost took Allyson and placed her in a slavery ring.
Allyson returned to Port Charles after an FBI task force blew apart the slavery ring. Realizing that she would be able to finger the Ghost, Ric begged her to return to Port Charles to help take him down. She returns with mixed feelings and a whole lot of baggage.
