Alex moved to Hungary with her husband Dimitri so that she could leave all of the drama that had gone on in Pine Valley behind her. Within a couple of months, she had achieved that task and then some; Alex had become the best neurosurgeon at the hospital she worked in, her brother Gabriel had moved in with her and Dimitri, and she had Dimitri had even begun talking about having a family of their own. Alex and Anna had kept touch over the years, she even comforted her sister when she lost her daughter Leora. All and all, Alex's life was normal, which was something that she longed for. Unfortunately, that normalcy didn't last long...Dimitri and Alex were kidnapped by Cesar Faison.
Once again, Alex's life had been turned into a life threatening situation. The fact that she looked identical to Faison's obsession, Anna, didn't bode well for either. Though, Faison did treat her well, Alex hadn't seen Dimitri in months. Faison's men didn't give her any kind of indication to Dimitri's condition, until one day she was informed that Dimitri had died trying to escape. Alex's world had been torn apart and she hated Faison for it. She used her rage and determination to avenge Dimitri's death to escape her confines and make her way to Port charles, where she knew her sister would be. Together, they would make Faison pay for the hell he put her through. Once escaped, she was overjoyed to find that it had all been a lie and that her beloved Dimitri was alive.
