Wesley was born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. He is the son of Carlton and Liza Carrington. He grew up with whatever he wanted. That brand new Fender Stratocaster...it was his. That hot Harley Davidson motorcycle...paid for in full. He was captain of the football and basketball teams, Student Council President, Mr. Popularity and the Homecoming King. He graduated at number 5 out of 200 students at a prestigious private high school in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was just getting set to attend Yale University when his world was turned upside down.
Though he has just finished high school himself, his parents have decided to let him in on an old secret of theirs. He is biologically not their son, he is in all actuality the son of AJ Quartermaine and Blair Cramer. Blair had given birth to baby Wesley just after she had finished high school. He was the product of a fling Blair had with AJ during each of their senior trips to Cancun, Mexico. she gave birth to him and handed him over to some old friends of hers, figuring that they had the money and were ready able to take care of an infant at that very moment.
Liza told Wes who he really was and sent him through a loop. He immediately packed a bag and his favorite acoustic guitar, and hopped on the first flight bound for Port Charles, New York. He had to know who he really was, and who his parents were. His college plans have been put on hold as he hopes to find his family and see what that gets him. Of course finding out that he has money no matter which family he ends up choosing doesn't hurt either.
After having played in Eden Cassadine-Alcazar's club for a few weeks, Wes really hit it big. A top recording executive for Sony Music showed up one night when Wes was playing. He was instantly signed to a two record deal, the chance that Wes was really excited about. As much as he wanted to find his biological family, he figured that this was his shot. He packed up all of his belongs quickly and moved to New York City to begin working on his first album. It would take a lot for him as he would be working with a full band along with writers to come up with some original material, but the young man was certainly looking forward to the ride.
