A working class guy, Drake Graves has been searching for his two brothers for years. As of right now he has given up the search, leaving it in God's hands. Drakes closest friend is man named Scotty. He has a very gentle soul that makes people think he is weak but he's very strong and intelligent. Drake met Lisa and the two married. She was pregnant with their first child when the plane she was traveling on goes down. Drake comes to Port Charles to make Lisa's dreams of opening a restaurant come true.
Drake tried to make the best of his time in Port Charles. Lisa's became an instant success and for awhile he seemed happy. He met and started dating Lois Curello. But he wasn't happy - not really. He started to drink heavily. Recognizing that he had a problem, Drake gave the restaurant to fellow plane crash survive Emilla Cates and left Port Charles.
