Cleopatra Windsor has been through a lot in her short years on earth. She is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos, conceived when he was a punk kid heavily involved with a gang. She was given up for adoption by her mother and was taken in by the Windsor family, who lived in the United Kingdom. She became involved in various things, including professional swimming and took part in the Olympics. Cleo also met Lord Edward Spencer and fell in love with him. She was extremely happy and but also wanted to know who her real father was. Her search led her name Sonny Corinthos. She was struck by a tragedy when her parent's boathouse exploded, killing her adoptive parents and her husband to be. The only clue: the name Alcazar. She then decided to come to Port Charles to find out more information about her family. She also comes holding a grudge against those carrying the Alcazar name.
Sonny was reunited with Cleo and the two began to form a bond. He was overwhelmed at the thought of having a grown daughter but he embraced her none same. He stood by her when she decided to date AJ Quartermaine even though he strongly disagreed. He also stood by her when she revealed she was pregnant and had been raped by Max. Cleo would later give birth to her first child - a boy named Angel.
Sonny settled into the idea of having a grandson when the truth came spilling out. During the virus, Cleo became sick. Her father was by her side...and discovered her blood type didn't match his. Suspicious Sonny had a paternity test done. He wasn't Cleo's father. She survived the virus and had to confess to Sonny...she was a con artist after his money. William Windsor - her "brother" was her accomplice. She discovered that he had a daughter and decided to take her place. She initially wanted to take him for all he was worth but grew to love the idea of being his daughter. She also confessed that Max had not raped her - she had done that to win her "father's" sympathy. She did not reveal who the father was although she strongly hinted that William may be the father. She pleaded with Sonny to forgive her and allow her to remain close to him. Sonny rejected this outright - livid that she had manipulated him like that. He gave her a huge payout - what she wanted in the first place - and told her to take Angel and get as far away from Port Charles as humanly possible. If he ever saw her again, she wouldn't be so lucky the second time around.
Cleo, Angel and William left that very night, using the money Sonny had given her. They hid their tracks and haven't been heard from since.
