Roman has grown up knowing that he belonged to the royal family of the Cassadines but also knowing that his position as Stavros' bastard son prevented him from truly obtaining anything. He has been raised by his Uncle Julian - who despite being more of a father to him than Stavros has always insisted on being addressed as his uncle. He has no idea just how similar to his father he is. He can be extremely cold hearted, and cunning when need be. But he also carries the regal air that made his father stand out among the rest of the Cassadines. He has watched his relatives from afar and was unable to escape the jealously as he watched Nikolas embrace what he thought should be his. When he realizes that Nikolas was not his brother but his cousin, Roman decides to come out of hiding, and reveal his true identity. He may not be the legitimate child of Stavros but still is the eldest son of the eldest son. Which gives him the right to challenge for the title of the Cassadine Prince.
