Quinn Stratton was born to very poor living conditions. His mother a seamstress and his father was factory worker. From a very young age Quinn wanted nothing more than to get out of the slums of New York . As the years progressed things became more of a struggle. Even though it was only the three of them Dunbar couldn’t handle it. He hung himself and a ten year old Quinn found him dead. Those images haunt him to this day. When Gail saw how weak her husband was she broke down. Gail pulled herself together for her son. Swiftly she devised a plan and pulled Quinn in on it. She cut Dunbar down and turned on the bathwater. She then called in screaming her husband had a heart attack. A young Quinn was shocked at his mother actions. Then she warned him this was the only way they were to get out of Brooklyn . Quinn was to lie and say his father was having heart problems. He did as he was told and he didn’t know how but his mother got them to believe he had a heart attack. After his small funeral the family collected over two million dollars. Gail moved them out of the country shortly after to England . As Quinn grew up he found himself longing to understand why his father would kill himself. Gail always pushed his question aside. Quinn finally let go and enjoyed the new found wealth.
Not two years after his father death Quinn was forced to watch his mother remarry another man. Quinn and Charles got into horrible fights. It escaladed to the point of Charles threatening to leave the marriage unless Quinn was sent off. Gail fearing losing the luxurious life she built sent him away. Quinn was so hurt by his mother actions that he didn’t speak to her for two years. She sent for him many times but he refused to go. When he returned he clashed with Charles again. This time Charles told him something that drove him to be the man he is today. Charles informed him that his mother Gail had drove him into killing himself by lying and saying that Quinn wasn’t his child! Quinn tried to kill his step-father for the lies. But Gail stopped him and admitted she did it. Quinn returned to private school and started working toward his father’s dream for him; to become a doctor. Quinn started working he refused to take his mother checks. But when school tuition came around he knew he had to ask for help. By this time Gail was on her third husband Count Alucard Beauford. He still refused to talk to her but she did attend his graduation. Quinn didn’t speak he just left her standing embarrassed. Quinn left London for the States again becoming a student at MIT. It was here he met Nikki Castillo. She fell into his arms literally passing out. Quinn used his medical training he already had to save her life. The staffs of MIT were impressed and so was Nikki. They started a wonderful relationship. For the next three years they spent every moment with each other. Nikki being a budding artist she always traveled. So the relationship was often hard on Quinn. When he entered Harvard Medical School with a full ride scholarship everyone took notice. Not only was Quinn an amazing doctor but some said a medical prodigy.
Medical school turned out to be the biggest struggle in his life. It was hard work and some teachers pushed him to his limit. They didn’t like a student of there’s getting more acknowledgement then them. They were after all Harvard professors. But one professor hated him with a passion. Dr. Dale Sanford wanted nothing more than to see him fail. He worked hard in the man class not just studiously but emotionally. He looked up to Dale and wanted his approval. But Dale wanted to see him fall. So he continuously went harder on him. Until one day he witnessed Dale sleeping with a female student. Quinn went to see him at the school gymnasium where he challenged him to a dual. They both got in proper fence gear and they went at it. Quinn won and bowed to the crowd. In the locker room Quinn went after Dale’s jugular telling him if he didn’t stop he’d reveal his affair with a student. Just the threat alone was enough to strike fear in Dale heart. He had no problem with the man after that. One night while having dinner with Nikki she revealed that she was pregnant. Of course Quinn wanted the baby and to marry Nikki. But she wasn’t ready and told him she’d chosen to have an abortion. Quinn was beyond hurt and told her not to go through with the abortion. She told him already had. She had a wonderful job offer and she was taking it. Nikki moved to New York and broke-up with Quinn.
Quinn hurt and alone graduated at the top of his class. He was offered a
very exclusive internship in Paris to
study under the world’s most influential cardiologist Dr. Alfred Gates.
Quinn left the States and returned overseas which was a much smoother
transition. Once in Paris he worked under Alfred and saw his newest
theory on the heart. They developed a father and son vibe at work. One
night at a gala event Alfred introduced him to his dear friend’s
daughter Eden. Eden and Quinn sizzled from the moment they met each
other. She played coy for weeks not even accepting a date. But when he
found her address in Paris , she gave up. He worked at the hospital at
day and spent every minute of the night with Eden . Before he knew it
two years had passed and he wasn’t an intern anymore. For a celebration
he proposed to Eden and she accepted. Since working with Alfred they’d
discovered a very new medicine. Quinn
overheard Alfred and Florence another doctor talking about it. When
asked about who discovered the medicine Alfred didn’t mention Quinn at
all. He took the entire credit for the medicine. Infuriated Quinn knew
the only way to get his respect for discovering the medicine and
treatment was to destroy Alfred. Quinn went into the medicine closet and
stole five bottles of capsules of morphine. Quinn placed two in Alfred
locker then a few in his home. He had to make this look real. He then
crushed up just enough to make Alfred heart stop then placed it in his
coffee. Alfred passed out and Quinn swiftly played hero saving the old
geezer life. Alfred went into a coma and Quinn went to the medical
review board in New York Quinn unveiled the newest drug for the heart.
Quinn got rave reviews and loved the credit. He also got Alfred fired
from his job. Quinn was offered the role of head cardiologist but turned
it down to leave back to New York with Eden . Quinn visited Alfred
before he left Paris . He tore down the old man for trying to betray
him. Then he told him his career would be more than Alfred could ever
dream. Alfred was mortified by Quinn’s actions.
Eden didn’t see the transformation in Quinn. She hadn’t noticed how cold he was becoming or how calculating he was getting. Quinn took a job at New York Presbyterian Hospital. There he was one of the leading cardiologists in the world. While with Eden he found out her family history. She was actually Eden Cassadine of the infamous Cassadine family. He told her about his father something he never shared with anyone. There bond was deep and together they prepared for a beautiful fall wedding. One day while with Eden at an art gallery he bumped into Nikki Castillo who owned the gallery. She was just as stunning as ever. The chemistry was there too. But Nikki had a major secret and was far to scared to tell him. Eden sensed the connection between the two of them and asked. Quinn blew the relationship off as an affair. She was satisfied but Quinn couldn’t get her out of his mind. She was the one that got away. Plus at one point she was carrying his child. Quinn figured that he needed closer. He called her up and they met for dinner. Old feeling resurfaced and the same night the fell back into bed with each other. Nikki and Quinn started a secret relationship while he lied to Eden saying he was working late. Nikki always seemed on the verge of telling Quinn something when Eden called with horrible news. Stefan Cassadine had died and she wanted to know her family. So together they planned on moving to Port Charles. Eden was ready to face her past while Quinn couldn’t shake his. Nikki was starting to pop up at the hospital almost as if she wanted them to be together again. He told her he was in love with Eden and never would leave her. Nikki was crushed but he told her to meet at there special place The Trump Towers. Eden received flowers that were meant for Nikki in a mistake Quinn made. Eden crushed by this called Quinn and demanded an explanation. He gave her the truth and Eden told him she could never forgive him. Quinn had an emergency surgery to do. The mayor of New York had a heart attack and couldn’t get to Eden . He went into the O.R. praying that she would still be at home. When Quinn didn’t show up Nikki knew she couldn’t continue to be his mistress. She went to see Quinn at his place to deliver the letter personally. Nikki bumped into Eden leaving with all her bags. She gave her the letter and knew and told her to give it to Quinn. Eden didn’t cause a scene she was to hurt to dare fight. When she read the letter she found out that Nikki never aborted the child and has been raising Quinn’s daughter all this time! Shocked she left the letter by the fireplace and got in her taxi to Port Charles.
Quinn arrived home to no fiancé. He did however find her engagement band on top of a letter. He assumed it was a goodbye letter and threw it into the roaring fireplace. Not knowing that the letter told him he has a daughter with Nikki. He called Nikki but her phone number was changed. Quinn felt like he had just lost everyone he cared about in the matter of hours. After trying to get in contact with Nikki he went to her gallery. She acted so strangely when he arrived wanting her back. Then she told him they could never be because she was engaged to another man. After a lengthy sabbatical Quinn went back to work and threw himself into his career. For the last few years he’s become a world renowned doctor a leader in the cardio field. Quinn learned of Eden ’s marriage to a local Port Charles mobster through gossip of her old society friends. He knew he had to save her from this thug. Quinn contacted Dr. Alan Quartermaine too see if it was room in the hospital for him. Alan knowing who Quinn Stratton is offered him the job of leading cardiologist at General Hospital . But what Alan doesn’t know is he doesn’t exactly want to just be cardiologist. It’s time for Quinn Stratton to be chief of staff.
