Relationships: Just broke up with long distance girlfriend Nicole Whitaker
Jonas is a Port Charles native he was born and raised in the little town. His father was a strict Irish police officer and his mother was a free spirit. Growing up he often wondered how his amazing mom ended up with such a jerk for a husband. But eventually as he grew and saw breaking his father rules got him in trouble so he quit. As for Jonas two other brothers Orin and Quinn never got the memo. Jonas was what in school you call a goody two shoes. He was never in trouble and avoided it like the plague. While Connor was getting hell with the twins Jonas was the model child. In his senior year of high school Jonas got into something that would forever change his life. Quinn and Orin were in the eighth grade and snuck out to a rave. Jonas wanting to save his brothers from trouble he went to the rave to get them out of the trouble. Jonas met a beautiful girl name Tara Cross. Tara was into the drugs and partying scene hard and she went where the party went. Jonas was smitten by not only her beauty but her free nature. They stayed out all night and he snuck in when the sun was up. For the next few months Tara introduced him to crack and every other drug there was to take. By his midterm Jonas grades had slipped so hard the teacher staged an intervention with him and his parents. Still in denial about his issues he lied and told them it was stress.
Only Quinn and Orin knew the real reason Jonas was falling apart. One day the boys caught Jonas laid out in the floor. This was enough to push them into telling there parents. Connor went into Jonas room full of anger and rage he attacked his son. But when Jonas screamed at his father telling him he wanted help but didn’t know if he’d be punished for it. Connor saw the error of his own ways. Monica found her son an amazing rehab facility were he could finish school off and work his way out of the program. It was here her found out that Tara overdosed and died. He didn’t dwell on Tara death but blames himself because somehow he believes to this day if he was out he could have helped her. Jonas slowly returned to his normal nature and after a year was accepted into PCU. There he reconnected with an old friend Nicole Whitaker. They started off a study partners but both sensed it was something more. For a whole year Jonas stood by waiting for his perfect opportunity to be with her. But there was no perfect time and Nicole new that so she kissed him first. It wasn’t long after they were madly in love. Nicole an amazing fashion student got the opportunity over the summer to intern in L.A. with a very popular designer. She left and didn’t come back because she was offered a job. They started a long term relationship that would last for four years. At first it was great they’d visit each other regularly. But soon she stopped coming back to Port Charles and he stopped going to L.A. although neither wanted to admit it they’d drifted apart. Jonas broke up with Nicole and they remain best-friends to this day.
Jonas graduated college with a degree in social work. With his father connection he instantly got a job. He wanted to help the good kids and bad kids that have made wrong choices. Jonas worked his way up the food chain by taking on only challenging cases. So far he’s not lost a child but he fears that most of all. Now he’s facing his biggest challenge: Dakota Miller. Nothing seems to get through to her. Can he and Grace save this wayward child or will Dakota be more than either of them expected?
