Javier is the 26 year old song of Carlos and Marisol, and he is the black sheep of the family. Well, in the sense that he doesn't buy into violence and crime the same way his father and mother do. And unlike his sister, he isn't into manipulating people. That is not to say that he is a clean cut goodie goodie either. When he was 21, he was involved in a shoot out with his father and took the life of Simon Prentiss. He was very upset out it and vowed from that day on not to pick up a gun.
He comes to Port Charles almost reluctantly. He knows his father plans to use whatever force necessary to come out on top but the thought of mob violence upsets him. He quickly meets Dorian Vega, and knowing his family's history with her mother he decides to hide his identity. When it is revealed, Javier understands her anger. He feels like he can never get rid of the blight his family has given him. He finds an understanding soul in Keesha Ward and soon finds that he is unsure of what his true feelings are.
