Anthony Zacchara
was born into the Zacchara family business. His father ate and breathed
the criminal life like his father before him. Owning casinos, running
the red light districts in New York City, loan sharking; were only a
small amount of his father's activities though drugs were his big thing.
Anthony's father was a big runner in the "Untouchables", one of the mob
factions you wouldn't want to mess with in New York City.
Growing up in the business, he started to emulate his father. In his
late teens-early twenties, Anthony worked for the Zacchara organization
and learned the ropes. He took pride in having a mobster for a parent
and used it to his advantage often, mostly for murdering those he didn't
like just because he could.
One
night, he met Domenica, a stripper at one of the clubs his father owned.
They slept together and Anthony thought nothing of her afterward, he
didn't have a high opinion of women. When he found out Domenica was
pregnant, Anthony wanted her to get rid of the baby but Domenica
opposed, wanting to keep Claudia. Anthony tried to make Domenica lose
the baby torturing her psychologically.
Working for his father wasn't enough for Anthony anymore, he wanted to
be the one calling the shots. The night Claudia was born, Anthony's
father was killed and he took over the Zacchara organization. He took
Claudia from Domenica and sent her away, having driven her fully insane.
In his late twenties-early thirties, Anthony met and fell in love with
Maria but his mind had started to wear from all the mob killings and
violence his life had become. Anthony's son, Jonny Zacchara, was born
when Claudia was twelve and Anthony noticed that his daughter was very
protective over her brother. His lawyer, Trevor was a trusty aid of his
and Claudia was a sniveling little brat who Anthony despised. Anthony
never wanted her; he just didn't want Domenica to have her.
As Jonny got older, Anthony started to see traces that his son was
different than he was. His son didn't want any part of the business. The
only friends he allowed his son to have were Wyatt and Kaitlyn who
became like Anthony's own children however; he still couldn't love
Claudia. When his daughter was sixteen, Anthony was shocked to hear that
she had slept with Trevor his lawyer! He blamed his daughter for the
tryst even though Trevor was far older than her; and sent her to live
with his brother in Milan. Anthony was happy to have Claudia out of his
life but his mental health deteriorated rapidly.
One night, Anthony went on a psychotic rage and killed Maria, thinking
she was sleeping with Trevor and that Jonny was not his son. Jonny
witnessed the act and was traumatized forever.
After his
wife's death, Anthony started to form an unsturdy relationship with his
son as Jonny got older. Though, he was blindsided when Claudia returned
from Milan years later when Jonny was grown and had Anthony committed to
a mental hospital. Anthony had been outsmarted by his children and it
was a proud moment that his son took over the business but Anthony hated
Claudia for giving Jonny the idea of confining him to a prison. In an
escape attempt at the asylum, Anthony became paralyzed and was bound to
a wheelchair.
Anthony has now made the deadliest of alliances with Gustavo Giovanni by
merging their factions, to secure his release after a year of being
locked up. He's reclaimed his position as head of the Zacchara family
and made his first order of business to kick Claudia out of the inner
circle and demote Jonny down to his advisor!
