and their daughters...sometimes they get along and sometimes they don't!
In Port Charles, family connections are very important thing and none of
those connections are stronger than the connection between
mother and daughter. From lying to their
daughters about their father's identity or lying to their daughter's
about their own identity, these mother and
daughter relationships do not come
without complication. Let's take a look at some of the most intriguing
and loving mother and daughter duos in
Port Chuck!
Melody Sutton & Holly Sutton-Having a con artist for a mother must be something very different to with, unless like Melody, you don't realize the scam she's currently pulling! Unlike other children growing up, Melody didn't know both of her parents. Her father wasn't a part of her life but the question of wanting to know who her other half was didn't hit Melody until she was older. Holly loves her daughter and wants to give her what she asks but can't bring herself to tell Melody the truth about her paternity. Instead, Holly concocts a lie with the assistance of James Craig were James is pretending to be Melody's dad. So far, Melody loves her father and is excited about getting to know him better but what's going to happen to mother and daughter when Melody finds out the truth that Robert Scorpio is her real father?!
Laura Spencer & Lulu Spencer-The Spencer women have always been known for the way that they love, especially the men in their life. Laura may have missed a good portion of Lulu growing up because of her catatonia but now that she's home, these two have quickly found the bond that they once shared. The love Lulu has found with Dillon and their upcoming nuptials has not only reminded us of Laura's enthusiasm way back when she was going to marry Luke but this mother and daughter have teamed up to give Lulu the wedding of her dreams. From pick out dresses, to a venue, to cakes, Laura has been dedicated to helping Lulu plan the wedding every girl dreams of and has even managed to convince Luke to help! It just goes to show that these two can make anything happen when they put their minds together. Though, Lulu has been noticing changes in her mother's normal behavior and Laura has been displaying some traits that are not like herself, even telling Bobbie that she's scared of not being completely cured. Will Laura stay healthy long enough to see her daughter walk down the isle? Or will Lulu have to be the one to pull Laura out of catatonic relapse?!
Carly Corinthos & Chloe Roberts-If Carly ever had a daughter, there was no doubt that she would be more than a handful to deal with and Chloe has certainly given Carly her fair share of trouble! Born from a sexual encounter with Jasper Jacks when Carly and he were younger, Carly's gotten a taste of her own medicine from her torturing Bobbie days because Chloe's given her a run for her money. When first meeting, Chloe had no problem of telling her mother how she felt about her relationship with her "stepfather" and the two got off to a rocky start. After helping her daughter through her rape, the two began to build a bridge back to one another and find common ground. Now, with the introduction of Milo Giambetti into her life, Chloe finds herself in the same shoes as her mother...falling for a mobster. Carly disapproves, not wanting her daughter to experience the same dangers she did but Chloe stays defiant and continues to explore her feelings for Milo, using her mother's own marriage to a mobster as her defense. This disagreement has forged a wedge between the Spencer-Benson women, can it be repaired? Or will we see a repeat of Carly and Bobbie?
Skye
Quartermaine & Kasey Jacks-The daughter she'd never thought she'd have,
Skye and Kasey have one of the strongest bonds between mother and
daughter on the canvas. As a little girl, Kasey wanted nothing more than
her parents to get back together but both moved on which left Kasey
feeling as though her dream would never come true. Skye brought Devin
into her life and Kasey was prepared to dislike him because he wasn't
Jax but he managed to win her over, for the first time Kasey actually
didn't mind her parents being apart. However, tragedy struck in the form
of Kasey being abducted by an unknown party. Skye literally drove
herself into the ground trying to find her daughter, already being
stressed from her separation with Devin, Skye was at wits end. A miracle
finally occurred and Kasey was returned to her family but what should
have brought happiness only brought more questions. Her daughter was
disoriented and clearly traumatized, leaving Skye wanting to know who
would take her daughter and what they did to her. Kasey doesn't want to
tell anyone about her traumatic experience though, including her mother.
Will Skye ever find out the truth about her daughter's disappearance?
And will Kasey be able to follow in her sister's footsteps and overcome
the horror she went through?
Blair
Cramer & Starr Manning-From Llanview to Port
Charles, the Cramer women still show that they can love one
another deeply but not always be on happy terms. After her mother
stopped believing her father for the murder of
Margaret Cochran, Starr and Blair's relationship took an
immediate downhill slide. Starr resented her mother for thinking their
father could be capable of murder and hated her even more when she
started seeing Spencer Truman. After all
was revealed and Todd was proven innocent, Blair had to eat crow and try
to make it up to her daughter. Starr forgave her mother but was quickly
angered by her again for taking she and her brother to Port Charles,
away from her father. After another fight with Todd, Blair decided to
move and took the kids, causing Todd to follow and Starr to once again
give her mother the cold shoulder. Now that Todd knows the truth about
Elena, what will Starr do when she finds out that she has a little
sister? And will she and Blair ever be able to have a stable
relationship?
Zoey
Winchester & Hayden Barrington-The daughter who doesn't know that her
aunt is really her mother, that's the story between Hayden and
Zoey! The biggest part of this lie is
that Hayden isn't even supposed to exist! Not being able to have an
abortion like she had promised Hayden's father, Andrew, Zoey gave birth
to Hayden and raised her as her niece to protect her from her father who
put Zoey through hell. Hayden grew up without any knowledge that Zoey is
her biological mother and has taken a liking to journalism as well. Zoey
has been cursed with having to watch her daughter grow up but never able
to tell her the truth about their true connection. Even though Hayden
believes Zoey to be her aunt, she loves her like a mother and has come
to see her as such. With the re-appearance of Hayden's biological father
in town, will Zoey tell him
the truth about the abortion that never was? And how will Hayden's
opinion of her "aunt'" change when she learns the truth herself?
