10 Stories I Can't Wait to be Told

by Mandy

With spring just around the corner, GHC is ramping up its storylines to shake off the winter blahs! There is so much going on right now that readers are in for a real treat as the storylines unfold. I just wanted to highlight in no particular order some of the stories that I am looking forward to.

*Please note – I am speculating on the outcome of these storylines. I have no idea if they are going this way or not.  I am talking in possibilities here!

1. The Lucky/Sam/Jason/Liz quadrangle

This storyline has been simmering for awhile and is finally ready to boil over.  Jason and Liz have already committed adultery and Sam and Lucky continue to be left out in the dark.  It’s obvious to everyone that Jason had made his choice – and he wants to be with Elizabeth.  It is going to be interesting to see how the fall out from this plays out.  After all, Sam has often credited Jason with being the one who changed her for the better.  How will she react when she finds out that he has betrayed her?  And Lucky and Liz has been together since they were teenagers – just how heartbroken is he going to be?  And can Jason and Liz really make it work – I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out.

2. The Cassadine Sisters rift

The fact that Alexis, Eden and Kristina have finally all come face to face should be a moment of joy.  But it quickly turned ugly and battle lines were drawn when Kristina announced that Luis Alcazar played a hand in her hiding in plain sight…and that he was the father of her baby! Alexis immediately contended that her sister had been raped while Eden wanted to do hold off making snap judgments.  In the end, Alexis berated her sister for taking up Luis’ defense and Eden was left stunned.  With Alexis fuming, Eden hurting and Kristina confused, it is clear that these sisters have some serious work to do if they want to mend their relationship.  As it becomes more clear what happened to Kristina and how Luis was involved, how will it affect who is on what side?!

3. The Mob War

General Hospital and by extension, GHC, has always had a strong mob influence in its story telling.  Currently the canvas is overrun with mob families all vying for control.  Gustavo Giovanni has already revealed that he will play dirty and the rest of the families are scrambling to stay one step ahead of the lunatic.  With some attempting to bow out (Jason, and Marisol), and innocent lives being pulled in (none more innocent then newborn Nate), the mob war is ramping up to a no doubt startling conclusion!

4. Stavros' Plan

Proving to be like a cockroach, Stavros emerged from the dead again last year.  However, since revealing that he is alive, Stavros has lurked in the shadows taking tabs on the people of Port Charles.  He has caused minimal disturbances so far - he was responsible for the power outage at the Black and White Ball but was not the main villain of the night.  It is clear that Stavros is saving his resources and gearing up for something big.  He has revealed himself to his mother and then instructed her to stand back and let his plan play out.  Just what is he doing? And how many people will it affect?  It should be interesting to see...

5. Vaughn on the run

Vaughn has always lived in the shadow of his brother - who has been dead for nearly two years now, although his murder case has long run cold.  He came to town to try and help put his brother to rest for good but now stands on trial for a murder he didn't commit.  Why did Vaughn confess?  Because he had no choice! Blackmailed into saying he killed Vince, Vaughn has since escaped from jail and is on the run, determined to get to the bottom of two mysteries - who blackmailed him and who really killed Vince.  With the help of Talon Spencer, it should prove exciting as it all unfolds...

6. The Teen Scene

Those who know me well knows that I do not often enjoy teenage characters.  I have rarely ever played a character under the age of 20 and that will probably never change.  That is why I find myself surprised to be interested in the current batch of teenager.  Maybe it is the sheer volume of them - I don't think GHC has ever had this many characters in the 13-19 age bracket.  Or maybe it is all the possibilities that come with the types of characters being brought on - we have it all from the drug dealer to the Queen B.  And I am sure that when they all mix it up, many storylines will follow!

7. Allyson's Return

Rarely does a character ever come off the Past Citizen section.  The page is littered with the dead, the abandoned and those whose storylines are told.  Allyson was placed there nearly two years ago, having suffered a terrible fate - being sold into slavery.  Her character has never quite been fully written off - often referred by Luis (who loved her), Dawn (who befriended her in captivity), and Carly (her friend).  It will come as a surprise to many to discover that she is now safe and sound, having been rescued by the FBI.  There are so many unknowns about her time gone - and she is bound to suffer through horrible memories of her time in captivity.   Many are excited to see Allyson's story continue and I am one of them.

8. Todd vs. Tea for Elena

Once a united front to gain custody of Todd's beloved daughter Starr, former spouses Todd and Tea find themselves in the middle of a custody battle of their own.  Tea claims to have kept Elena from Todd based on his past actions and Todd is furious to be missing out on his daughter's life.  So far, Tea seems to have been proven right - Todd's anger at Tea's actions lead him to attack her cousin's wife.   Both have lawyered up - Gia standing behind Tea and EJ taking Todd's corner.   They both seem determined to win, despite once loving one another.  Given their personalities, this may be one hell of a fight!

9. Tales of the Scorpio Children

Robert Scorpio is the proud father of three children - each coming with their own unique baggage.  Oldest daughter Robin nearly married an imitation of long dead first love Stone.  She now is struggling to decide if she wants to begin a relationship with Patrick, whom is nothing like she first thought.  Son Colin is embroiled in a fight with Daniel, who seeks revenge for his own father's downfall.  And newly discovered daughter Melody now has to deal with the fact that her mother lied to her all her life - if she can ever remember what Holly confessed moments before she passed out at the Black and White Ball.  Although they are connected to a legacy family, these three characters have left their mark on the canvas of GHC and have many stories left to tell.

10.  Baby Xavier fights for his life

There is nothing that tugs on my heartstrings more than a sick child - especially one as young as Xavier Scorpio.  A surprise to Mac and Felicia, Xavier was warmly welcomed by three older sisters, and served to solidify a decades old relationship between his parents.  Now that it is apparent the little guy is in a fight for his life, the Scorpio family has rallied around him and are proving why they have always been a close knit bunch.  As this storyline unfolds, I expect to see a lot more bonding, a few heart stopping moments and tears.  And despite the need for Kleenexs, I am looking forward to this storyline because at the very heart is one thing - family!

Honorable Mentions: Greenlee/Leo, Talon/Sage’s wedding, Trevor’s quest to protect Mia

Of course, I always enjoy most (if not all) the stories told on GHC but I thought it would be nice to highlight a few that have me running to my inbox to see if the next scene is in!

Awesome work everyone!
