Lesson Plan ReportINTRODUCTIONIn this lesson a rather Debative question was asked : Should polymerization of ethene or the production of polythene be banned? Then I explained that one of the major uses of ethene is the production polythene. Students were asked to give their opinion on the issue Diverse responses were given.Students were told to find that out from the internet.Students were asked to log onto the internet and get to Google and then type POLYTHENE + POLLUTIONStudents were asked to explore the various websites and write down their findings. SUCCESSES AND CHALLENGESI was not able to involve the whole class because one of the HUBS got blown two days ago and that apart there was a communication problem and so one of the tutors was using the bigger internet lab so I had to divide the class into three and use the smaller lab of ten computers one of which is there sever. I was only able to involve sixteen students whilst the rest were given some other work to do. Two students were to a computer. The results were tremendous because Google gave 5,700 websites on the topic within 5[five]seconds. I could see students writing down their points. . CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION AND LOGISTICSAll computers were functioning properly and the lab was properly setup before students came.Seventy minutes[70] were use but this was not enough because students could not type out their summarized findings and were to do it later for its publication in the school Magazine. There were some students who have never Browse the internet and were therefore paired. SUGGESTED CHANGESStudents are generally slow so I will ask the teacher involve to use 140 minutes,ie give out two of his periods to another and take his. FEEDBACKThe feed back was very exciting as each group got something to say with their URLs and even said they were going to publish their findings in the countries Daily news paper Students said they preferred this way of learning instead of the Chalk and talk method. Some offered to write Nancy Flowers given their reports. ASSESSMENTStudents will be assessed through the quality of their presentation and the number of websites they list.
