- Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddie’s Dead
- Rating: 6
Lily: Freddie’s dead!! Yes! Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, oh happy day! Finally! They killed him!! Woo hoo! Of course, our boy doesn’t go down without a fight, and a comical one at that. In what seems to be the sixtieth film in the horrendous Nightmare on Elm Street saga, our boy Fred Krueger has finally succeeded in killing off almost every single child in his little town. Now what? As he suffers from post-homicidal depression, he has but one child left...a boy who is swiftly approaching adulthood. What does Freddie do? he uses the little bugger to his advantage to get some fresh meat. All of Freddie’s secrets are revealed. His style of murder has, “evolved” over the years...he seems to take pleasure in his work. No more “let’s just stab them with my home made hand-o-knives” for Freddie, now his murdering technique is extremely original, high tech, and funny....my favorite being Super Spencer. The comical aspect would be the only reason this movie got a six and not a three, I loved his originality, had the others been that funny, I may have watched them more than once. But alas, Freddie’s death is much more conventional and takes place within the last two minutes of the movie, hence, he is finally dead...or is he? Wes Craven’s New Nightmare quickly followed, but that my friends, is another Critique... * Evil Laugh *
