| Study English in Canada Study German in Canada The German School of Canada offers English (ESL) as a Second Language and residence/homestay programs, and German (GSL) as Second Language and residence/homestay programs. Study English in Vernon, British Columbia in CANADA. The city of Vernon and sorounding area is a safe friendly community, located in the sunny Okanagan in south east of British Columbia. The area is known for its spectacular scenery and an abundance of activities available thoughout the four seasons. In the summer, Okanagan lakes and rivers allow vacationers to swim canoe and boat. There are many golf courses in the area. Silverstar Mountain is known for excellent hiking, mountan biking and skiing. Students in the homestay program stay in a totally English envoironment while they receive intensive Englsh in a class for 15-25 hours per week from an certified ESL teacher. Their lessons and vocalbulary are needs-based and also personlized to suit each student. In their free time, Students are taken for local tours, including wild life, heritage buildings, with ample time to learn more about the area. English or German Grammar is taught in a communicative manner with emphasis on using the structures orally. Communicative methodology is also used to develop your English or German Vocabulary, Idioms and Pronunciation. Your English / German grammar ability will be evaluated with a written test on the first day and then evaluated at the end of each 2 week course with a written test.
