The Silicon's

In the late twenty-first and early twenty-second centuries, the scientific community made significant leaps in artificial intelligence. These droids, known now as Silicons, were fashioned in the humanoid form and were initially developed with civilian purposes. But as the Apocolyptic War neared, they were abused and distorted, programed with military intent. The War nearly obliterated all records of the research into A.I.

Now, a century after the War, the silicons have aquired sentience. They have will of their own. They have no difinite life-span and, until recent years, could not reproduce. They have advanced the science through trial-and-error, and have learned to create others of their own kind. Most Silicon's bear no ill-will toward the humans, and in this time of turmoil, they have even offered their support in the humans struggle with the Mech's and Genod's.
