| You can make a one page WebQuest, (click on this link for example) typing Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation and Conclusion in a larger font and then giving brief directions beneath them OR have one Main WebQuest Page link to each of the five sections (this would be a six page webquest, click on this link to see example) Either way, read the directions for "One More Thing," near the bottom of this page.) Six Page WebQuest 1. Open a New page 2. Type the word "WebQuest" on the top of the page 3. Type the Words: Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion on separate lines 4. Save page as webquest 5. Open a new page, type the word : Introduction; following the directions in Mod 5, type a brief "hook" 6. Save page as introduction 7. Open a new page, type the word: Task on the top of the page 8. Refer to Mod 5, type a brief description of the task of the quest 9. Save as task 10. Open a new page, type the word: Process; following Mod 5, describe the process the students need to follow; place a link or two here if desired 11. Save as process 12. Open a new page 13. Type the word: Evaluation at the top; follow Mod 5, give basics required to complete WebQuest successfully 14. Save as evaluation 15. Open a new page, type the word: Conclusion; following Mod 5, type a brief conclusion summing up and expanding upon lesson learned 16. Save as conclusion ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now we will link these 5 pages to the webquest page ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 17. Open webquest page highlight the word Introduction, link it to "My Page" called "introduction" (remember, you are not linking this to a Web URL, use the down arrow to choose "My page"); highlight the word Task, link it "My Page" called "task" highlight the word Process, link it to "My Page" called "process" highlight the word "Evaluation," link it to "My Page" called "evaluation" highlight the word "Conclusion," link it to "My Page" called "conclusion." _________________________________- Now all of your pages are linked to your WebQuest, but you need to hit the back arrow to get back from each page, so you might want to type "back to webquest page" at the bottom of each of them, highlight those words and link them to "My Page" called "webquest." this makes for easier and better navigation. (optional) ============================== One More Thing How are your students going to get to your WebQuest? They cannot right now, only you can get there through your file manager. Therefore we must put a link to it on your homepage. Just go to your homepage and type the word "WebQuest," then highlight it and link it to "My Page" (not a Web URL) called "WebQuest" (or whatever you named your main webquest page) and Save. Also, on your main WebQuest page, you might want to type : "back to homepage" and then link those words to "My Page" called "index.html" (now your students can get back to your homepage with one click.) ___________________ My webquest examples (linked in mod 11 with the words "one page webquest" and "six page webquest") are bare, basic webquests. All that I have added is a colored background and larger darker font for titles. They would be much more inviting with beautiful backgrounds, inserted graphics, animations, etc. These choices are yours. All we are looking for here is a basic quest with an understanding of the process of construction. ======================================= |
