Webquest about Egypt
Introduction
How would you like to hunt for King Tut's lost treasure?
Task
We will search for clues to King Tut's lost treasure on caravan to Egypt. We must find out how many pyramids were built and how tall they are, while each person will be given a job by the curator of the Smithsonian Institution. Our team will develop a presentation, with a written journal and a photo collage of our findings, and then present it.
Process
The curator will divide you into teams, each person on the team having one of these jobs:
Archaeologist - you will need to gather the data as to how many pyramids there are, and their   heights (here is where you would place links for your students to use, optional for this mod)

Archivist - you will keep a detailed written record of all sites visited to be turned in in journal form; six written pages (links here)

Photojournalist -  you will keep a pictorial record to be made into a collage on standard size poster board; at least 10 images (links here)

Television correspondent - you will present all of your finding orally to the class; 4 minute presentation (links here)

Evaluation
(Here you can give basics expected and then print out rubric, or construct one yourself - downloading  templates is very complex and I would not recommend it; go to http://.rubistar.4teachers.org/ and look at their pre-made rubrics, or follow their  templates and Print it out (not download))

do you have at least six written pages?
are your spelling and mechanics corrrect?
is is neat and attractive?   etc.
Conclusion
Congratulations!  You have searched the Valley of the Kings and found the clues to the treasure.  The treasure is the knowledge that we have gained and shared as a class.  From here, we can go on a virtual field trip or construct or own Egyptian sarcophagus.
