| A NEW OUTLOOK This is the new beginning, the new reality.... Sometimes i�m asked to define myself like a designer We are living the click of our system, we are living a big transformation, a new world. A new outlook is necessary, a new form of conception, from the whole and not from separation. That � s why it�s so difficult to define myself or limit my work to an old, structured concept that can be easily predicted. I dont want to separate interior design from general design, architecture or landscaping. I dont want to establish an antagonism between the simple and daily and the impossible and hazardous. A new vision means to leave behind dicotomies and cliches in order to act now and here. The design should not be so far from magic (that fill our lives) and at the same time must contemplate the coherence inside madness, because one cant exist without the other. The unnanimated objects are either filled for the spirit of the life, that essence from all things, from all thoughts or ideas. To deny this quality means to remove the vitallity from our existence. I like what i do. Is really fascinating to investigate my enviroment, to experiment new materials and to develope new techniques. I strongly look for the possibility of tranformation, the constant transgression of structures, concepts and limits; to conquer primitive materials,strengthen the weak, to produce the necessary alchemy to transform a defect into a virtue. My designs and works are then the results of several factors. I put all my professionality, creativity and spirit in it, uniting in my work, this absolut, interactive universe: harmony, practicity, beauty, originallity, functionallity...; all in one package, in a whole thing. Only as such is possible to establish a full communication between the internal universe of an individual human beign, and the external, material world that surrounds him. George Laviano |
