| You'll not find a better of faster single with such low operating costs. In still air at F100 I get 150 TAS burning 8 gph (32 lph)This 1979 Mooney M-20J-201 (S/N 24-0494) was imported into the EU (VAT paid) soon after production. It has has been maintained to public transport standard and is beautifully equiped---see 'photos' and 'avionics' spec. I hold a professional licence with IR and have used the A/C exclusively for IFR travel, as did the one previous owner (a line pilot). TTAF = 2250 and the IO-360-A1B6D engine (Lycoming factory O/H) has 400 hours on it since new (TTBO = 2000). It has a max economy cruise range of 1150 nm, a useful load of 930 lbs and a ceiling of 17000 ft The A/C was based and hangared for most of its life at Lelystad and Rotterdam (when I was based in NL) and is now based at Shoreham. It carries two O2 bottles and a Winslow raft. It has no damage history. I have recently retired and no longer require it for business travel. The asking price is 77K (? 120K) based on a 2002 Aeromart evaluation ($ 113K). To buy a similar aircraft in the US would cost the same plus ferry charges and VAT; ie, this is a fair price. I would consider a partnership with a local IR or IMC pilot(s); eg, retired line pilot or similar. |
