| Working at the soda fountain at the drug store. It was my job in high school. It was my summer job while I was completing my studies at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Colorado in Boulder. There were even time when I was the cashier at the front of the store. Years: 1948-1951. Registered Pharmacist: State of Colorado March 10, 1952. Finally I am 21 years old. Amazing. I made it. |

| The diploma awarded to members of the graduating class for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Colorado in 1951 were the last awarded for the old curriculum. The studies for the old curriculum were for natural plant products and home remedies. We were the last class to learn to grow, harvest, and process medicinal plants and to standardize alkaloidal content for the regulation of dosage. The new curriculum was for chemical synthetic products that were standardized for the convenience of commercial reasons. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Books of the Ancients teach the mysteries of Nature that include the art of healing. Much of family medicine includes proper nutrition with fresh fruits and vegetables and adequate exercise in out of doors. This aspect of science was taught in health classes in the public schools. The primary concern for health was to learn the importance of clean clothes and clean body parts. The idea of health was prevention of illness, not the cure. |
