Brides
Many wedding photo shots are taken in Manito Park and often photographers ask if they may be allowed to use the house as a background. Sometimes they are prearranged for the balcony. We were very proud to provide accommodations for Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mayner.

Newspaper Articles in the '90's
These articles are related to George's renovations.
In 1996 the Lincoln Heights Home Center held their employee Christmas Party at Tiarabella.
In 1997 John L. Scott Realtors held their employee Christmas Party at Tiarabella.
In 199_, a party was held for a prior owner.
In 1999, a holiday party was given for Mayor John Talbott. Ferrys Catering catered the event for 100 people and did a wonderful job. The major business men and political activists in the City were present.
Tours
A Charitable Organization had a nine home tour where they raised funds from participants. The tour was of old historic homes in Spokane. We were told that Tiarabella ranked #1 on this tour and that the participants walked through the other homes but remained here for an hour or better.
We had a fundraising tour that was open to the public in July 2000. Volunteers dressed up in period costumes and refreshments were served outside. Tour participants went out to the carriage house where they viewed the video tape on Tiarabella's history. It was to be the last time we would open the doors to the public.
Functions
A fund raiser was held in ___ with a string quartet and sit down dinner. The response was so great that they had to schedule three seatings for this event.
Video Tape of the restoration of Tiarabella by Action Videos
In 1998 George hired Action Videos to produce a video on the history and restoration of Tiarabella. Interviews with prior owners, archive research and newspaper accounts helped to provide the basis for her yesteryears. The video tape was shown at the Spokane Auditorium and George was to be there to answer questions. The auditorium had standing room only and George was unable to attend. He had returned from a trip to China and had pneumonia.
Artist's Interpretation
We received a phone call from Art Works stating that a local artist had just brought in a painting he had done of our home. The artist is __________. The dealer had instantly recognized it as our home. We went down to see it. It definitely was Tiarabella but rather than it being the whole house, it was the rose bushes in front with lawn space, a chair, and the bottom section of the pillars in the background. He did beautiful work and we felt honored that he would use Tiarabella as a study for his painting. We had hoped it would have been of the whole face of Tiarabella and a great treasure for us but given it's limited subject we did not purchase it.
Victorian Homes Magazine
In September 2000, a photo shoot was done of Tiarabella to be published in Victorian Homes Magazine in October 2001. It was a two day extensive photo shoot. We understand that it will be a seven page layout in the publication. Remember to watch for it on your newstands if you don't subscribe to this publication.
Spokane Historical Society
We have the paperwork to register Tiarabella on the Historical Society's Register of Historical Homes. You do get a tax break if it is registered. We did not register because in doing so you have an obligation to open your doors for tours and some organizations have restrictions on what you can and can not do to your property.
Spokane's Garden Society
We have been asked several times to include Tiarabella in the Garden Society's Tours. We declined as again, it would again invite groups of people periodically and we did not want to commit to that.
Please understand that we enjoy sharing Tiarabella, but we had gotten to the point where if we allowed every organization to include Tiarabella in their programs we would be spending our summers hosting tour groups. We had to decline each of them in fairness to all.
Tiarabella Plaque
When we were in China we found a brass plaque maker of great talent. He made a plaque for us that we hung on the front porch.
