| GeoJam is an event run by students in the Mathematics Secondary Education program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. |
GeoJam is a Geometry competition in which teams of students and family members work together to complete 4-5 different stations. Scores for each station will be recorded and the winning teams will be awarded a class pizza party and other great prizes. GeoJam was developed out of a school-community event that Dr. Rochelle Gutierrez participated in while on a Fulbright fellowship in Zacatecas, Mexico, studying secondary mathematics instruction.
Each participating Central High School math class can form a team of 5-7 members. Members can include students, family, and friends.
Click here to download the registration form. Forms are due to your math teachers by Monday, May 5!
Yes! Students are encouraged to bring friends and family members to cheer on the teams.
Cheering, signs, and team t-shirts are encouraged (but not required!)
There will be additional FUN activities for guests that plan to attend.
