| I have ofte stated how I seldom go out in the middle of the week. I like to relax and do house work during the week and save my outings for the week end as something to look forward to. This week a new friend and co-worker invited my out to a reading and discussion on Tuesday by the new university "writer in residence" Whitney Terral. He has a new book out and the university was getting behind him by sending a large contengent to hear his reading. These reading sponsored by a local independent bookstore are normally held at the temple I attend here on the plaza but this time was going to be held in the newly referbished midtown theater "The Uptown" I had never been to one of these nor had I been to the uptown since they had reopened and decided to join her. The reading was very good and the discussion was lively. His book is something that I normally would not pick up on my own but was something I definately would like to read. It will also be the book of the month at the university bookstore's bookclub this month so I am going to try to get it to read before then and join that discussion. Ciao |
