Last entry: Dinner a movie and dinner
We ended up having two seperate conversations. David his friend and I, and Shirley and her friend. None of us were particularly knowledgeable about Ti food except Shirley's friend so we let him do the ordering with the exception of me.  He stated right off that he was fond of hot and spicy food and that he would pick some dishes we would like. I knew that I didn't like hot and spicy at all and that I would be able to find something a little milder.

The dinner was good and I enjoyed the company, even though Shirley and I didn't get much chance to talk. The one mishap was when David, being adventurous tried a dish that was hotter than he expected and in a rush to quench the  heat grabbed my glass of sprite with lemon and yanked out the limon to take the fire out of  his mouth. The one topic of conversation that we could all join in on was the cluelessness of our waitress. We know we were in for it when she asked for our drink orders and David asked for a dirty martini.  After taking the rest of our orders she came back to ask what was in a martini and David told her. She then informed him that she didn't have in vodka. We were a bit surprised and David turned his head and looked over at the bar and could plainly see that there was a bottle of Vodka right there. When he informed her and called it by its brand name she said she didn't realize it was Vodka. Well once she left that got us talking. She was back shortly saying she was sorry but they weren't going to be able to make a martini, when we asked for an explanition why not if they had vadka she just looked confused. David then just ordered a soft drink.  A little later we saw the bartender go by and stopped him to ask about it. He informed us that they didn't have any olives or vermouth. That explained it but we still thought she was a little off. But as I said the food was good and we had had a good time so we agreed we would recommend the place to our friends with the caveat that they should be forwarned that the service was not that great.

While the others were talking David and I decided that it would be nice to go down to the Plaza to a new place for some frozen custard and a stroll to round out the evening. the others all decided to join us and we all headed down there. We ended up meeting up with David's friend but Shirley and her friend had to bow out because of a problem at his work that he had to take care of. So we three went to "The Rose" had some yogart and spent an hour or so walking around and talking. We had a good time people watching and window shopping. David's friend ended up being very nice and funny with a dry sinse of humor. Unfortunately the night was very hot and humid so we called it a night fairly early. Once back at David's place we surfed for a couple of hours and headed to bed.

Sunday morning dawned as another hot and humid day in a to long string of them. We were up on time and headed out for some breakfast. The Museum doesn't open until 10:00 on Sundays so we took our time with breakfast and ended up getting  there around 11:00.  We3 knew when we planned this that our time would be short. I had estimated that the photo shoot would take an hour or so. This would be our first time doing one together and I wanted to make it short so I could see how the first one's turned out so I could better direct him next time to get the results he wanted. It was already so hot out by the time we got there that we decided to skip the shoot and just go into the museum to see the newest show on display, the "Gold of the Nomads".  We were much cooler and more comfortable once inside and the show was well worth seeing. If you live here in KC or plan to be in town anytime soon I highly recommend seeing this show.  The grounds at nelson are under construction, there are building a new large underground parking garage and a new wing on to the building so the museum itself is free while they are working.  The work doesn't in any way effect the museum or most of the Thomas Moore sculpture garden. Anytime is a good time to go to the Nelson but especially so when the entrence is free.
